    1. Important Parts 2. Operation 2.1 Setting Up the Instrument 1) Extend the tripod legs until the head is roughly at eye level then re-tighten the tighten screw. 2) Make sure that the tripod head is approximately level fix the tripod shoes firmly into the ground.(Figure 2)

    3. Measure Method 3.1 Height Difference 1) Set up the instrument at a point approximately halfway between point A and point B. (Figure 6) 2) Posit the staff vertically at point A,take the reading a (back-sight).     3.3 Horizontal Angle 1) Direct instrument to staff A and turn Horizontal Circle to “0”.(Figure 8) 2) Point instrument to staff B. 3) Read off Hz-angle from Horizontal Graduation Circle.(Example : Hz=32°) 4. Check and Adjustment 4.1 Circular Level 1) Adjust the leveling foot screws to center the bubble in the circular level. 2) Turn the instrument 180°the bubble in the circular level should be centered,if the bubble does move,must be adjust as follows: a.
