1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and follow these instructions carefully
and completely in order to ensure safe and proper use.
The instructions must be made available to
all persons who use the product.
Handling
Carefully and completely read and adhere to the product documenta-

tion for the associated test/measuring instrument.
Use the product only for its intended purpose in accordance with this

documentation and the documentation for the associated test/measur-
ing instrument.
The product may only be used by qualified electricians in commercial

settings.
Use the product in undamaged condition only. Inspect the product be-

fore use. Pay particular attention to damage, interrupted insulation or
kinked cables.
Damaged components must be replaced immediately.
If the product does not function correctly, discontinue use of the prod-

uct and dispose of it properly.
If the product is damaged during use, for example if it's dropped, dis-

continue use of the product and dispose of it properly.
Products and accessories from Gossen Metrawatt GmbH are designed

to function ideally with products from Gossen Metrawatt GmbH which
are specifically intended for this purpose. Unless expressly confirmed
otherwise in writing by Gossen Metrawatt GmbH, they are not intended
or suitable for use with other products.
Operating Conditions
Do not use the product after long periods of storage under unfavorable

conditions (e.g. humidity, dust or extreme temperature).
Do not use the product after extraordinary stressing due to transport.

Do not expose the product to direct sunlight.

Only use the product within the limits specified in the technical data and

operating conditions (ambient conditions, IP protection code, measur-
ing category etc.).
Measurement Cables and Establishing Contact
Danger of electric shock! Do not touch the moving green part or the

conductive end / internal contact.
Plugging in the measurement cables must not necessitate any undue

force.
Fully unroll all measurement cables before starting a test/measurement.

Never perform a test/measurement with the measurement cable rolled
up.
Avoid short circuits due to incorrectly connected measurement cables.

Ensure that the test probes make good contact.

Do not move or remove the test probes until testing/measurement has

been completed.
Unwanted sparking may otherwise occur due to test current.
Keep for future reference.
2 APPLICATIONS
Please read this important information!
2.1 INTENDED USE / USE FOR INTENDED PURPOSE
The Vario-Plug-Set, hereinafter referred to as the product, consists of 3 self-
retaining, contact-protected test probes.
They can be used to connect measurement cables with 4 mm banana plugs
or with contact-protected plugs to sockets with openings of 3.5 to 12 mm
(e.g. CEE or Perilex sockets, including the rectangular PE jacks on Perilex
sockets).
The Vario-Plug-Set is used with the following test and measuring test instru-
ments:

2.2 USE FOR OTHER THAN INTENDED PURPOSE
Use of the product for any purposes other than those described in this sup-
plement, or in the product documentation for the associated test/measuring
instrument, is contrary to use for intended purpose. Use for purposes other
than those intended may result in unforeseeable damage!
2.3 REPAIRS AND MODIFICATIONS
Unauthorized modification of the product is prohibited.
2.4 LIABILITY AND GUARANTEE
The warranty provided by Gossen Metrawatt GmbH, and its liability, are
governed by the applicable contractual and mandatory statutory provisions.
