Quick Setup
"Quick Setup" is for those who are in a hurry to use the Minadax Visor. However, we recommend reading this entire document
to get a complete understanding of the visor's operation and alternative setup options. The original instructions start with "Step
1: Turn on the visor".
Quick setup of the Minadax Visor
You'll need your camera and a telephoto lens, the Minadax Visor, and the included 3-mm Allen key, as well as a tripod. Find a
location where you have a line of sight to a distant small object like a sign or another noticeable object that's about 15-30 cm
large. It could be a "No Parking" sign, a tree part, a birdhouse, or a mailbox. It should be distant so that the camera's focus
center almost covers the object.
1. Remove the rubber lens cover and slide the Minadax Visor into your camera's hot shoe until it clicks into place. Tighten the
clamp screw. The visor should sit firmly without wobbling.
2. Turn on the Minadax Visor by turning the top adjustment wheel to Green or Red #5 (1 is least bright, 5 is brightest).
3. Set the visor's crosshair to the "dot" style by moving the toggle switch all the way to the left.
4. Adjust the tripod to a height that allows you to easily look through the visor. Focus and center the target object with your lens
set to its maximum focal length. Lock the tripod's ball head.
5. Align the camera's focus center with the object and look over the top of the visor through the center of the visor lens to locate
the crosshair. Use the included 3-mm key to adjust the height and side adjusters so the dot of the crosshair is exactly on the
camera's focus center.
6. Set your camera's focus system to continuous mode and a multi-point focus system. 9-25 points usually work best, but consult
your camera manual as each camera has similar, yet different settings for action photography.
7. Don't forget to turn off the Minadax Visor when not in use or store it in your gear bag. Turn the adjustment wheel to the
letter G or R.
8. Practice on stationary and slow-moving targets, near and far, to get used to shooting with the Minadax Visor. Keep both eyes
open! This way, you can see more and it's easier to track moving targets.
