Page 4: Controls And Functions Front Panel
DESCRIPTION The RDT-896HD is a high definition digital TV receiver with HDMI output and PVR function with time-shift. It records DTT programmes with the PVR function and reproduces video, audio and image files. It is compatible with high definition files (HD) and standard definition files (SD). -

BACK PANEL RF IN: digital TV tuner aerial input. RF OUT: digital TV tuner aerial output to connect to the input of another tuner in cascade. COAXIAL: digital audio output. HDMI: high definition (HD) audio and video output to connect it to a television with a digital input. TV: standard definition (SD) audio and video audio and video output to connect it to the television input. -

REMOTE CONTROL 1.- STANDBY: power/standby mode. 2.- INFO: shows information on the current channel. 3.- d: starts reproduction of a file. 4.- 7/8: buttons for previous or next. 5.- 2: pauses the reproduction of a file. Activates the time shift function. - Page 7 CONNECTION Before making any connections, switch off all the equipment and disconnect it from the mains. It is recommendable to read the whole manual before connecting anything. Respect the connector colour code when making the audio and video connections. Connect the DTT to a television with just one type of connector. The general connection procedure is the following: - Connect the aerial to the ANT IN, RF tuner input.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE START UP When you switch the Digital TV receiver on for the first time, a quick start menu will appear on the screen which will make the receiver set up and channel tuning easier. Once the initial configuration has been chosen, select OK and the automatic channel search will start. INSTALLATION By accessing the main menu you can set the receiver, tune and edit the TV channels and play the content from a USB memory. -

AUTO SCAN This lets you perform an automatic channel search. Select AUTO SCAN and press the OK button to access the menu. Press the movement buttons and select FTA ONLY, place the cursor over the SEARCH option and press OK to start the search. When LCN (Logical Channel Number) is activated, the numbers of each TV channel assigned during tuning cannot be modified. -

CHANNEL EDITING Changing channels 1. Press the MENU button to access the main menu. 2. Press the up/down buttons to choose the EDIT CHANNEL option and press the right button to enter the EDIT CHANNEL menu. 3. Press the up/down buttons to choose the desired option and press OK to enter the submenu. 4. -

DELETE ALL 1. Select DELETE ALL and press the OK button to enter the channel list menu. You will be asked for a password (by default it is 0000). 2. A window will appear asking for confirmation. Select YES to delete all the channels or NO to cancel the process. -

TV SYSTEM This lets you set the resolution, aspect, video output and digital audio output: Video resolution: 480i / 480p / 576i / 576p / 720p @50-60 Hz / 1080p @50-60 Hz. Aspect mode: auto / 4:3 PS / 4:3 LB / 16:9. Video output: SCART CVBS + HDMI / SCART RGB. -

PARENTAL LOCK This lets you protect menus and channels, and change the password. 1. In the System set up menu, select PARENTAL LOCK and press the OK button. You will be asked for a password (by default the password is 0000). 2. -
Page 14: Multiscreen Setting
FAVOURITES This lets you rename the groups of favourites. 1. In the SYSTEM SET UP menu, choose FAVOURITE and press the OK button to access the menu. 2. Select the group you want to change, then press the OK button and a keyboard will appear on the screen. Insert the name you want using the corresponding letters and numbers (moving with the movement buttons) and pressing OK to introduce them. - Page 15 Others For setting LNB power, the type of channels being watched, the beeper and auto standby. LNB power: on/off. When the LNB power is on, the receiver supplies 5 V DC to the aerial. On the otherhand, if this option is off, it does not supply it.

LOAD FACTORY SETTING This menu lets you reset the system with the default values, deleting all channels. 1. In the TOOLS menu, select LOAD FACTORY SETTING and press the OK button. 2. You will be asked for a password (the password by default is 0000). 3. -

GAME This menu lets you access GAME. 1. Press the MENU button to access the main menu. 2. Press the up/down buttons to choose GAME and press the right button to enter the games menu. 3. Use the up/down buttons to choose the desired option and press the OK button to enter the game. 4. - Page 18 MUSIC Red button: shows the playback list for the music files. Green button: select the desired file using the up and down buttons, press the green button to add to the playlist. the selected file will be marked with an icon. Yellow button: adds all the music files in the directory to the playlist.

PVR STORAGE INFORMATION This lets you show some parameters from the removable device. 1. In the REC menu, select HDD INFORMATION and press the OK button to open the disk information window. 2. Press the EXIT button to exit. Press the yellow button to open the menu for formatting the device. Use the left and right movement buttons to select the format you wish to use for the device (FAT/NTFS) and press the OK button to continue or cancel to go back. -

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS ORDERING THE LIST OF CHANNELS To order the list of channels, access the CHANNEL EDITING menu and use the option MOVE to move the position of a channel within the list. The LCN option must be deactivated in order to move a channel. Check the LCN option in the installation>aerial adjustment menu. -
