but the unit does not roll from side to side.
BASIC TECHNIQUES
Hire Shops
With the unit in position, move the direction valve
to the right and operate the pump handle, until
the cutters are almost touching each other. There is
a stop bar fitted on the right side of the sliding jaw which
will prevent the cutters from touching.
Once the weld has been sheared, turn the direction
valve to the left and again fully open the jaws,
ready for the next job.
EQUIPMENT CARE
Never use the equipment for anything other than
its intended purpose. If it will not do what you want
with reasonable ease, contact your local HSS Hire Shop
for advice.
Keep the equipment clean. You will find this less of a
chore if you clean up regularly, rather than wait until the
end of the hire period.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and safe from thieves.
Handle the equipment with care, and if the cutters
become blunt contact your local HSS Hire Shop for
a replacement.
Hydraulic Rail
Do not lift or pull the equipment by its hoses.
FINISHING OFF
Weld Shear
With the jaws fully open, release the unit from the
rail by turning the clamp handles 90 degrees and
lift the unit off the rail.
Unit
Clean the shear unit as thoroughly as possible, ready
for return.
Used for removing the bulk of a
drop weld on all types of rail track,
ready for profile grinding.
