How to change from a REI or Jensen PA to Ready2Talk
Here are a few quick tips and the instructions to help you swap from a REI or Jensen PA box
to a Ready2Talk PA 63 or PA 64, using the same power and speaker wires. Although it might
seem complicated at the start... it really is quite easy!
Please take a few minutes to read the manual and use the "Install Check Sheet"
included in the box, as there is important info about some minor adjustments, initial testing
and set up. It is also strongly recommended to watch the "Concept, Setup and Testing"
video found on our
Changing out a REI or Jensen PA for Ready2Talk
Both companies use "Standard Car Stereo" colour codes, so basically you just cut one wire at
a time on the old PA and connect to same colour wire on the Ready2Talk PA. Just follow the
wire for wire info on page 2.
There are only 2 real wiring differences
1. REI and Jensen uses 4 channels from the stereo to feed their input and Ready2Talk
uses only 2 Channels, the front White and Gray wires. The left over Green and Purple
wires coming from the stereo are NOT CONNECTED to the PA 63 – PA 64 input.
Just tape them off. See the diagram and instructions on Pg. 2
2. REI and Jensen only uses a Red switched power wire, Ready2Talk uses 2 power
wires, Yellow and Red. In these replacement installations, you can join our Red and
Yellow power wires together and connect them in place of their red wire.
Front channel adjustments
If... you find that the front speakers are a bit louder than the rear speakers, there are
adjustments on the PC board to compensate. The instructions are in the video and in the
manual.
Wrapping up
Like every new item, the first installation will take a bit longer, the rest you can do in your
