    TKR-840 ■ INSTALLATION RX MODIFICATION FOR EXTERNAL PRESELECTOR FILTER This model may be modified to use an external pre-selector filter. ® Remove the RX cover panel.   • Page 34 TKR-840 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION 4.5 Receiver sub PLL circuit The receiver sub-PLL circuit produces a second local oscillator signal for the receiver, and consists of PLL IC IC15, crystal oscillator X1, oscillator FET 021, buffer amplifier 023, RF amplifier 015, 030, 033, and emitter follower 027. The VCO consists of a crystal oscillator circuit (Q21 and X1) and varicap D9.
