Inspect the step after delivery. Before every use visually check the step is not damaged and is

Familiarise yourself with the step before use.

The step should not move when weight is applied.

Employers should ensure employees are competent using the equipment for work.

Ensure the base sits firmly on the floor before use.

Wear suitable non-slip footwear when using the step.

DO NOT use if damaged.

DO NOT exceed the maximum load of 150kg.

DO NOT position step on contaminated ground.

DO NOT use the step on an unlevel or unfirm base.

DO NOT overreach.

Move the step if necessary, or use alternative equipment if the step is unsuitable.

DO NOT use step to access heavy equipment stored at height.

DO NOT step off the side of step onto another surface.

DO NOT ascend or descend unless you are facing the step.

Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on step, such as side-on drilling through solid materials.

DO NOT carry equipment which is heavy or difficult to handle while using step.

DO NOT wear unsuitable footwear when climbing the step.

DO NOT use the step if you are not fit enough. Certain medical conditions or medication, alcohol

DO NOT spend long periods on a step without regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).

Prevent damage of the step when transporting e.g. by fastening and, ensure they are suitably

placed to prevent damage.
DO NOT use the step if contaminated, e.g. with wet paint, mud, oil or snow

DO NOT use the step outside in adverse weather conditions, such as strong wind.

For professional use a risk assessment shall be carried out respecting the legislation in the country of use.

When positioning the step take into account risk of collision with the step e.g. from pedestrians, vehicles or doors. Secure doors

(not fire exits) and windows where possible in the work area.

Identify any electrical risks in the work area, such as overhead lines or other exposed electrical equipment and do not use the step

where electrical risks occur. Use non-conductive step for unavoidable live electrical work.
