STARTING INSTRUCTIONS
- Lock-out clutch
■ Turn key to on position
■ Set throttle
- Pull rope to start
'Disengage blade
- Return rope handle to lock

RECOIL STARTER HANDLE
The recoil starter handle is located on the right side of
the dashboard. The recoil starter handle can either be
pulled while seated on the rider or pulled while stand¬
ing behind the rider. The ignition key must be on be¬
fore the engine will start. After the engine starts, the
recoil starter handle must be returned and locked into
the dashboard before the blade or clutch are engaged.
The engine will stop if you do not follow these instruc¬
tions. See figure 12.

LIFT AND DISENGAGEMENT LEVER
It is used to raise the cutting deck. Pulling it all the way
back and locking it disengages the blade.
NOTE
The engine will not start unless the lift
and disengagement lever is in the dis¬
engaged position. See figure 13.

CUTTING CONTROLS
The cutting controls consist of the height of cut stop
and the wheel height adjusters.
Height Of Cut Stop. See figure 13. Lift the stop and set
it at the desired cutting height. Allow the lift and dis¬
engagement lever to come forward to rest against the
height of cut stop.
Wheel Height Adjuster. 25-inch cut. Remove the axle
bolt and place it in the desired cutting position. See
figure 14. Both wheels must be in the same relative po¬
sition.

Wheel Height Adjuster. 30-inch cut. Move the lever
towards the wheel and set it in the desired cutting
height position. See figure 15. Both wheels must be
in the same relative position.
