    Before You Begin KTE-300 Camera Housing EFORE EGIN Read these instructions before installing or operating this product. Note: This installation should be made by a qualified service person and should conform to local codes. This manual provides installation and operation information. To use this document, you must have the following minimum qualifications: •...

    KTE-300 Camera Housing Mounting the Bracket OUNTING THE RACKET Ensure that cables are accessible at the chosen mounting location prior to the installation of the bracket. There should be at least 28 inches (71 cm) of free cable to run through the housing and make connections.

    Opening the Housing KTE-300 Camera Housing PENING THE OVER To open the back cover, see Figure 2 and perform the following. Slide the sunshield forward at least 4 inches (10 cm). Use a screwdriver to loosen and remove the screw in the back cover of the housing.

  • Page 8 Attaching the Housing and Camera KTE-300 Camera Housing When you feed the cables through the swivel head, leave enough slack to allow for adjustments in the position of the housing. (See Figure 4) Figure 4. Slack should be left in the cables inside the swivel head To open the housing, see Figure 5 and perform the following.

Loosen the ring nuts on the cable glands and remove the plugs. Feed the cables through the cable glands, leaving some slack between the cable glands and swivel head.

    NIVERSAL DAPTER OUNT Use the universal adapter mount to attach the KTE-300 housing to the KTA-25 Corner-Mount Adapter, KTA-27 Roof-Mount Adapter, KTA-29 Parapet Capping Brackets, or KTA-26 Pole-Mount Adapter. The KTA adapters and brackets come with the connection bolts required to attach them to the universal adapter.
  • Page 14 Appendix A KTE-300 Camera Housing Pass the bolts and washer through the front access holes and seat them in the rear mounting holes. Secure the bolts. Feed the cables through the pass-through holes on both adapters. Attach the adapters to the mounting surface.

  • Page 15: Appendix B: Using The Adapter

    KTA-26 Pole Mount Adapter. The KTA-26 uses adjustable metal straps to connect to the pole. Figure 13. Attaching the KTE-300 bracket to one side of the pole-mount adapter. If you are using cables that are external to the mounting pole, remove one of the slot covers on the KTE-300 mounting bracket (Figure 1).
  • Page 16 If the cables are external to the pole, feed them into the hole opened by the removal of the slot cover (Figure 1) and through the housing bracket. Figure 14.     • Fewer than 45 days from purchase, GE Interlogix, Kalatel division, will replace the product with new equipment. • From 45 days to 1 year from purchase, GE Interlogix, Kalatel division, will replace the product with refurbished equipment. • From 1 year to 3 years from purchase, the product must be sent in for repair.
