Rotisserie rod: for cooking chicken and all foods which require uniform cooking over their entire surface. • Accessories available on request: Original supplied and optional accessories may be ordered from any Authorised Support Centre. • Use original SMEG accessories only.
To remove the rack, lift the front slightly. The mechanical lock must always face the back of the oven. Insert racks and trays fully into the oven until they come to a stop.

ELECTRIC GRILL OVEN THERMOSTAT KNOB (on some models only) The oven thermostat knob is used to switch on the bottom burner or the electric grill. To light the bottom gas burner, see paragraph “7.4 Using the gas oven”.

We recommend using a meat thermometer for meat when roasting it. Alternatively, simply press on the roast with a spoon: if it is hard, it is ready; if not, it needs another few minutes cooking.

Instructions for the user To save energy To save energy during use of the appliance, the following instructions may be followed: • To save energy during use of the appliance, the following instructions may be followed: • Stop cooking a few minutes before the time normally used. Cooking will continue for the remaining minutes with the heat which has accumulated inside the oven.
To clean and preserve the stainless steel surfaces, always use only specific products that do not contain abrasives or chlorine-based acids. How to use: pour the product onto a damp cloth and wipe the surface, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth or a microfibre cloth.

For easier cleaning, the door can be removed (see “9.5 Removing the door”). The oven should be operated at the maximum temperature for about 15-20 minutes after the use of specific products, to burn off the residues left inside the oven.
Remove the bulb cover using a tool (e.g. a screwdriver). Remove the bulb by unscrewing it. Press the cover down as far as it will go so that it attaches completely to the bulb support. To permit thorough cleaning of the oven, the door seal may be removed. There are fasteners on all four sides to attach it to the edge of the oven. Pull the edges of the seal outwards to detach the fasteners.

Removing the internal glass panels The glass in the door should always be kept thoroughly clean. For easier cleaning, it is possible to remove the door (see 9.5 Removing the door) or open it and block the hinges. The glass panels of the door can be completely removed by following the instructions provided below.
Before any intervention that requires access to live parts, disconnect the appliance from the power supply. The appliance is preset for natural gas G20 (2H) at a pressure of 20 mbar. In the case of operation with other types of gas, the burner nozzle must be changed and the the gas tap adjusted.

The by-pass diameter is detailed in “10.2 Burner and nozzle characteristics table”. If city gas or natural gas is used, it is sufficient to unscrew the by-pass by a few turns. In both cases, functioning must be tested as follows. Light the oven burner at a temperature of 240°C and leave it on for 15 minutes.
The air vents, protected by grills, must be suitably dimensioned in compliance with the current standards and positioned so that no part of them is at all obstructed. The cooker must be kept adequately ventilated in order to eliminate the heat and humidity produced by cooking: in particular, after prolonged use, you are recommended to open a window or to increase the speed of any fans.
