SIMRAD Issue 1.1 18/07/03 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTIONS SRD12 PCB Assembly Introduction. The SRD12 is the heart of the Rotary Powerpilot and all other units are linked to the SRD12. It decodes the information from the heading sender and calculates the heading, acts upon user commands sent from the control unit, detects drive gearbox clutch engagement, reads the Hall Effect quadrature feedback and controls the gearbox motor drive.

SIMRAD Issue 1.1 18/07/03 Solenoid Drive. The solenoid drive is switched by logic levels from port P3.5 of the microprocessor. Components TR7, R30, R31, R32, R33 and ZD2 convert the logic level to a higher voltage level to enable the FET TR8 to be switched. Diode D5 is used to block inductive ‘kick’...

SIMRAD Issue 1.1 18/07/03 SHS12 PCB Assembly Introduction. The SHS12 is the compass for the Powerpilot. Using a fluxgate element it detects the earth’s magnetic field, calculates the sine and cosine values and passes the information to the course computer. The circuit diagram for the PCB is given in Drawing No. E02777.
