INTRODUCTION The Go-box+ is a HDMI monitoring device developed especially for people with a reading impairment and it detects the subtitles that are encountered in the video and then reads them out loud or shows them with a bigger font with better contrast. The device only has a few settings and all feedback is spoken.

What is in the package The package includes the following: Go-box with 5V adapter HDMI cable USB headphones dongel remote control + AAA-cells manual...
The serial number The serial number. This 5-digit number preceded with a capital G (e.g. G12345) can be found on the type plate on the bottom panel of the Go-box+,on the outside of the package and in the spoken settings menu. This serial number is important for any support questions.
2 SETTING UP THE GO-BOX+ The Go-box+ merely needs power and a video source to start reading subtitles to you. This is described in the 'Basic setup' example below. Some other examples that may better suit your environment or your needs are also described.

Set the TV to the correct HDMI input (a.k.a. source) to watch the signal from the TV-set top box. The Go-box+ may briefly show the Solutions Radio or Sensotec logo and a bootup splash screen. It will then let you hear spoken subtitles coming out the TV. If not: press the [Speech] button on the remote control to toggle the 'speech- output' between TV and headphones and/or enlarged font.
Bluetooth headphones The Go-box can also use Bluetooth headphones instead the ones with a cable. The Bluetooth headphones must initially be coupled (paired) with the Go-box: Set the headphones into pairing mode (see their manual). Press the [Menu] button of the remote control and choose 'Bluetooth'.
Multiple video sources The Go-box analyses the video coming in his HDMI-input to detect the subtitle texts. Swapping cables to this input can be a temporary solution to use the Go-box with multiple video sources, but the following description explains how to use a so-called HDMI switch. Such a switch is not included with the Go-box, but can be bought in any electronics- or computer-store.

on the TV. Set the TV to the correct HDMI input to watch the signal from the TV-settop box. The HDMI switch can now select which video source needs to be passed through the Go-box to the TV (see also the manual for your HDMI switch).

Remote control The remote control has 13 buttons. The [Speech] button is located in the top left corner and directs the the spoken subtitles to either the TV speakers or to the headphones+Webbox. The [ON] button is located in the top right corner. This button will either switch the Go-box+ off (standby) or switch it on again.

HOW TO USE The Go-box+ will automatically switch ON when it detects a video- signal on its' HDMI input. You can also press the ON button on the remote control. Select the speech destination and/or enlargement Press the [speech] button on the remote control in the upper left corner to switch the speech to the connected headphones or back to the TV and/or show the enlarged font.
Adjust the headphones-volume You can connect headphones to the Go-box+ either with a cable (3.5mm jack plug in the USB dongel that came with the unit) or through bluetooth. You can find a pair of buttons on the right side of the remote control that control the headphones volume.
MENU The Go-box menu allows you to change usually one-time settings. Press the [Menu] button (left to the [Up] button) and then use the [OK] button to choose from: Speech Profiles Wifi Bluetooth Go-box Menu - Speech - Volume The spoken subtitles will be played at a certain volume compared to audio volume in the video.
Menu - Speech - Balance The voice that reads the subtitles can be heard on both sides or just on the left or on the right speaker/earshell. Use the [Left] and [Right] buttons for the right setting (e.g. center) and then press [Menu] or [Back] to exit the menu.
Menu - Speech - Voice The voice that reads the subtitles can be selected, e.g. to select a male voice instead of a female voice. Use the [Left] and [Right] buttons for the right setting (e.g. Rachel) and then press [Menu] or [Back] to exit the menu.
Menu - Subtitles - Colour The Vo-box can show the enlarged subtitles in different colour-schemes. Use the [Left] or [Right] button to choose a colour scheme that you find pleasant to read. Menu - Wifi The Go-box can be connected to the internet so that it can for instance download available software updates. This can be done either directly via a network cable to the router of your internet-provider, or through its' wireless network. Select your network name (a.k.a.
The text 'configured' will now appear next to your network name. You may want to refresh the list by pressing [BACK] and choosing 'Wifi” again to see if 'connected' will appear. Tip: How to remove a network configuration: go to the 'Wifi' menu and move the yellow bar to the configured network that you want to remove and and press the [BACK] button for 3 seconds.
Menu - Status The Go-box+ menu shows you the state of the license and some system details like the video quality of the decoder (x1080 preferred) software version and serial number.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Should you have any questions or problems with the Go-box+, please read the following frequently asked questions first: Why are not all words in the subtitles read to me or do I only hear some fragments? The video quality (resolution) of your decoder may not be set correctly yet.

The Go-box also needs at least one of its' HDMI connector to see an active device, so make sure the decoder and TV are connected properly and switched ON. I also watch on-demand like Netflix or HBO. How does that work with the Go-box? The easiest way is to get a decoder from your TV-provider that can also stream such.
