    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec General Information The RS26 Reel Stand provides up to 26,000 lbs of load capacity and the RS30 Reel Stand provides up to 30,000 lbs of load capacity. Both come equipped with a hydraulic negative brake, reel arbor bar and hose storage. The RS26 and RS30 also have an optional manual reel brake.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec • Before carrying out any maintenance stop the machine (except for those instances indicated otherwise in this manual) and wait till the system components subject to heating have cooled sufficiently. • All the maintenance performed on this machine must be carried out on a level surface and while the system is not under load.

Technical Specifications The Condux Tesmec RS26/RS30 Reel Stands were developed for paying in or out conductor reels when used in conjunction with Condux Tesmec Puller- tensioners and Tensioners. Industry-leading features like self-acting hydraulic brake and advanced hydraulic systems.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec Safety Information Safety Devices The machine has been equipped with the following safety devices: • A mechanical negative safety brake that stops all movement if hydraulic pressure is lost. • Where possible, guards and covers are provided to protect personnel from the moving parts.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec chocks. Attach the machine to the floor of a truck box or trailer using chains and hooks at the attachment points provided. Unpacking When receiving the machine, verify the condition of the package; immediately notify the transportation company and the manufacturer (use photos whenever possible) of any damage that may have occurred during shipment.

  • Page 15 RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec 4. Open the Ball Valve (in line with flow) as shown below. 5. Operate the pump handle until the pressure on the gauge reads approximately 450 PSI. NOTE: Use caution when the brake begins to release, as the arbor bar will begin to rotate.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec Reel Stand Manual Brake Instruction 1. Keep arbor bar and reel in same position as when using hydraulic drive. 2. Pull out the drive pin on the hydraulic drive side and lock it in the disengaged position.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec Instructions for Removal and Installation of Arbor Bar Bearings on RS26 and RS30 Bearing Removal on Drive End of Arbor Bar 1. Loosen setscrews. 2. For eccentric locking collar bearing only: Use a hammer or mallet with a punch in the blind hole on the locking collar to rotate the locking collar *opposite the direction of normal bar rotation*.

For eccentric locking collar bearing: i. If bar bearing surface has thin groove: align end face of bearing with groove.

    RS26/RS30 Condux Tesmec Bearing Installation for 3" Arbor Bar (for use with RS26 only) Drive End 1. Install bearing sleeve (21034242) onto arbor bar using bolt and nut. 2. Slide bearing onto sleeve—setscrew/locking collar side first. 3. Position the bearing.

Use a hammer or mallet with a punch in the blind hole on the locking collar to further rotate the locking collar *in the direction of bar rotation*.
