ANTENNA (AERIAL) INFORMATION
MW and LW Reception:
The
built-in
ferrite-core
antenna
(aerial)
guarantees
good reception under normal conditions.
FM Reception:
Extend the antenna, adjust the direction for best re-
ception and fix to the wall or ceiling.
RADIO INTERFERENCE (RIF) CANCEL SWITCH
When
recording
an AM
program,
beat inteference
(created by the station's frequency and harmonics of
the recording bias frequency) may occur.
In this case,
the Radio interference (RIF) cancel switch @ should
be set to another position.

TURNTABLE OPERATION
1, Depress the Power switch @ to the "ON" position,
and the Function selector @ to the "PHONO" posi-
tion.
2. For operation of the turntable refer to the operating
instructions of the turntable.
Only TAPE 2 record, it is impossible to record with
TAPE 1.
INSERTION OF CASSETTE
Press the Stop/Eject button (8) firmly to open the Cas-
sette holder @. Then, insert the cassette with the full
reel to the left and the opening face-down.
PLAYBACK
1. Press the Power switch @ to the "ON" position,
and the Function selector @) to the "TAPE" position.
2. Insert the cassette tape.
Set the Tape selector switches @, matching it to
the tape to be played back.
3. Set the Dolby NR switch @ according to the tape.
4. Press the Playback button @ to start playback. Ad-
just the Volume control @, Graphic equalizer @
and Balance controls @).
5. When a temporary hait is desired during playback,
press the Pause button @.
Press the Pause button @ again to continue play-
. back.
6. To stop playback, press the Stop/Eject button @®.
Note: When the Playback buttons (9 of TAPE 1 and
TAPE
2 are pressed, the sound
of TAPE
1
» only can be heard.
FAST FORWARD
AND REWIND
Press the appropriate button (mm) @D or (<4) @ until it
locks; to release the button, press the Stop/Eject but-
ton (®.
RECORDING (TAPE 2 only)
From radio program
1. Press the Power switch @ to "ON" and the Func-
tion selector (QD to the desired position LW, MW or
FM.

- 2. Turn the Tuning control
© to select the desired
station.

3. insert a cassette tape and set the Tape counter
@ to "O00" by pressing the Reset button (TAPE
2).
4, Set the Tape selector switches @, matching it to
the tape to be recorded.
5. Set
the
Dolby
NR
switch
@
depending
on
whether
you
record
with
Dolby
NR
system
or
Dolby NR OFF.
6. Press the Pause button @).
7. Press the Record button @ and Payback button
simultaneously.
8. Adjust the Record level contro! 4) so that all green
indicators of Audio analyzer @) light up when the
sound is loudest.
9. Release the Pause button @. Recording starts.
10. Press the Pause button @) for temporary
stops
during recording.
Press the Pause
button
again to resume
re-
cording.
11. To stap recording, press the Stop/Eject button @®.
Note: Recording will not be made if TAPE 1 is oper-
ated
{played
back,
fast-forwarded
or
re-
wound) while recording from radio program
or from turntable.
From turntable
|. Press the Power switch @ to "ON" and the Func-
tion selector @ to the "PHONO" position.
2. Play the desired disc.
3. Proceed with steps 3 to 11 in "RECORDING
from
radio program".
From microphone
1. Press the Power switch @ to "ON", and the Func-
tion selector
to the "TAPE"
position.
Set the
TAPE 1 to stop mode.
2, Connect
a microphone
plug into the Microphone
jack @®. When
two microphones
are connected,
stereo sounds are recorded to left and right chan-
nels.
