December 1999 Hotwire 6040 MVL Wall Jack Phone Filter The Hotwirer 6040 MVLt Wall Jack Phone Filter separates voice and data signals to improve data transmission throughput and minimize audible background noise. It is recommended that a phone filter be placed on every phone, modem, fax machine, or other telecommunication device that uses the same phone line as the Hotwire 6310 MVL Modem.

Installing the Hotwire 6040 MVL Wall Jack Phone Filter " Procedure 1. The local loop provides dial tone and terminates at the NID (Network Interface Device) at the customer premises. Disconnect the existing POTS wiring on the customer premises side of the NID.
