QSM-220 Activ8 Activity Tracking Disposal The Activ8 activity tracker contains electronic components. To avoid risk or harm to the environment through non-professional disposal, the disposal of the device, including all components, must correspond to the valid directives. The following symbol has been included in accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive of the European Union.
Activ8 Activity Tracking 3. Introduction Intended use The Activ8 activity tracker is a wearable activity tracker intended to monitor activity parameters based on linear acceleration measured by a 3D accelerometer. It classifies sitting, standing, walking, cycling, running and provides movement intensity. It also provides the option of outputting the raw accelerometer data.
User Manual QSM-220 Activ8 Activity Tracking Activ8 Activity Tracker The Activ8 activity tracker measures accelerations. The measured data can be outputted as interpreted or raw data. The device contains a rechargeable battery and is IP67 waterproof. Figure 1 Activ8 activity tracker Button Single Press: activate wireless BLE scanning (advertisement mode).
The orientation of the of the accelerometer sensor is shown in Figure 2. Figure 2 Activ8 Activity Tracker Orientation 2.1.2. Activate Activ8 Activity Tracker (from Hibernate power mode) When using Activ8 trackers for the first time, you need to activate the sensors by connecting them to a powered USB cable. You can directly connect to the micro-USB port...
Activ8 Pouch When the Activ8 tracker is worn in a trousers pocket, it is important that it always stays flat against the upper leg, for the activity classification to work accurately. Therefore, Activ8 is supplied with a pouch. This pouch ensures that when the Activ8 tracker is inserted while wearing the Activ8 tracker in a pocket it stays flat against the leg.
The Activ8 Docking Station provides a convenient storage and charging solution for your Activ8 trackers. It enables simultaneous charging for up to 5 Activ8 activity trackers. Each docking slot in the station is equipped with a built-in micro-USB port. To power the docking station, simply connect the included power adapter (5V, 1500mA) to the micro-USB port located on the side.
This allows prolonged measurements while giving people the freedom to shower. Contact Activ8 for more information. Figure 7 Activ8 Patch Activ8 PC Application With the Activ8 PC Application you can set up a recording and do basic reporting. Activ8 trackers can be connected via USB or using the Activ8 BLE Dongle.

Activ8 provides different software applications for different use cases. The easiest way to start is using the Activ8 PC application. This application allows you to set up a recording, download a recording, and provides the user with basic reporting and exporting facilities.
User Manual QSM-220 Activ8 Activity Tracking Changing the wireless setting (see Figure 8) changes how you can connect to the Activ8 tracker: Enabled – You can always connect Disabled – You can never connect Button activated – You can connect when pressing the button on the Activ8 tracker Start the Activ8 PC application.
Important: before starting a recording always ensure your Activ8 tracker is fully charged! Plug the Activ8 tracker via a cable of USB adapter to a PC or USB power adapter to charge. Important: the selected mode heavily influences the type of output data. Carefully test it for your specific configuration.
