For the LR-II Repeaters to function in a wireless sensor system, each LR-II Repeater must communicate with a nearby Long Range Repeater LR-II or with the MSI Hub. Each wireless sensor network should have an unique System ID that enables all wireless sensor network components (MSI Hub, Space Sensors, Repeaters and Wireless Temperature Modules) with that System ID to communicate with each other.
INITIAL LR-II REPEATER CONFIGURATION For the LR-II Repeater to function in the Wireless Sensor network, each Long Range (LR) Repeater must communicate with another nearby LR Repeater or MSI Hub. Each Wireless Sensor network should have a unique System ID that...

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Observe the RED and GREEN status LEDs (3). When the LEDs stop blinking, the LR-II Repeater has communicated to the MSI Hub and is ready to install. NOTE When properly communicating with the MSI Hub, the RED LED should blink when transmitting data and the GREEN LED should blink when receiving data.
Continue holding the Transmit button until the RED and GREEN LEDs start blinking together. Once this occurs, the System ID has been cleared and the LR-II Repeater is ready to be programmed with a new System ID. HEAT-TIMER CORP. 059707–00 REV. B...

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE To continue the process of Programming a System ID on the LR-II Repeater ensure the MSI Hub has been powered-on and has already been programmed with the System ID. Observe the MSI Hub status LEDs (5). If the status LEDs are not blinking, or are blinking only once every 15 seconds, a System ID has been programmed.

Repeater was not properly clear of the previous System ID and did not communicate with the MSI Hub. Ensure the System ID was properly cleared from the LR-II Repeater as outlined in the above Steps 2 through 7. If the problem persist, contact Heat Timer tech support for assistance.
Do not locate the LR-II Repeater in which the signal may be restricted such as a closet. Begin locating the LR-II Repeater on every 7 floors of the building as a general rule of thumb. Some building construction may allow this to be expand to every 9 floors, while some building construction may restrict the location to every 3 to 5 floors.
4 LEDs = Great 5 LEDs = Best Ensure there is at minimum 3 Signal Strength Indicators LED's flashing. If not relocate the LR-II Repeater and repeat the above steps. After a location is found that provides an acceptable signal strength, disconnect the 9V MSI Installation Battery Pack from the LR-II Repeater.
PROGRAMMING THE SYSTEM ID on page 10 have been completed before continuing. The LR-II Repeater cover should already have been removed. Once an appropriate location to mount the LR-II Repeater has been determine, the LR-II Repeater base ready to be mounted. The LR-II Repeater base is secure in place using the provided screws through the two mounting holes the base.
DO NOT mount the device in a location where it will be exposed to extreme heat, cold, humidity, or moisture. WARNING The 120Vac power wiring for the LR-II Repeater transformer can not be exposed. The transformer and wiring may need to be mounted in a 1900 electrical box.
DO NOT re-connect electrical power until ALL wiring to the LR-II Repeater is completed. Failure to do so may result in severe personal injury or death. DO NOT share the LR-II Repeater AC power transformer with other devices. This may cause problems with the wireless operation or permanent damage to the equipment.
ATTACHING LR-II REPEATER INDOOR ANTENNA The LR-II Repeater is supplied with a rubberized external antenna that is intended only for indoor use. The antenna can be rotated around a swivel-point to change its direction in order to achieve the best possible signal strength.
Attach one end of the antenna cable to the antenna adapter, and then connect the other end of the cable to the external antenna connector on the LR-II Repeater. Note that an optional surge suppressor can be attached to the end of the cable before connecting to the LR-II Repeater Antenna Socket.
