User Manual orchard sprayer 17. Suction filter The liquid that is sucked in by the piston membrane pump, always flows through the suction filter (A). The filter protects the pump from pollution. Regular cleaning of the suction filter is necessary to prevent the filter from clogging up.
Page 27
User Manual orchard sprayer 18. Self-cleaning pressure filter The self-cleaning pressure filter eliminates any remaining pollution from the spraying liquid in the pressure line, before the liquid flows to the spray nozzles. This prevents the spray nozzles from clogging up. The filter is 'self-cleaning'.
User Manual orchard sprayer 20. Pressure gauge The pressure gauge indicates the pressure in the pressure line. If the hand points to the yellow or red area, the pressure filter needs to be cleaned. If the orchard sprayer is fitted with an H.S.S. Controlbox®, the pressure can be read out digitally, on the ‘S screen.’.
Page 29
User Manual orchard sprayer The orchard sprayer has two or four electric stop-valves, placed at the top of the vertical spray tower. With these section stop-valves you can open and and shut down the flow of liquid towards the spray nozzles. When the section stop-valves are open, the liquid will flow to the nozzle holders on the spray tower.
Page 30
User Manual orchard sprayer The spray nozzles are attached to the adjustable nozzle holders with swivel nuts. The orchard sprayer can be fitted with 2-fold (A) and 3-fold (B) nozzle holders. The 2-fold nozzle holder can hold two spray nozzles and two blind stands. The 3-fold nozzle holder can hold three spray nozzles and one blind stand, see also Image 2-31.

User Manual orchard sprayer The delivery pf the spray nozzles needs to be corrected with regard to the fertilizer in use. Consult the supplier of the liquid fertilizers regarding the correction factor, ans select a spray nozzle that fits the requirements for the corrected delivery. 5.1.3 Mounting the spray nozzles ATTENTION:...
Page 45
User Manual orchard sprayer Spray nozzles The delivery is determined by the spray nozzles that are selected (see 5.1). Certain types of spray nozzles are used for spraying the liquid (Venturi-sprays), while other types are used for dispersing the liquid (Nebuliser). Spray pressure The delivery of the spray nozzle can be set very accurately through the spray pressure.

User Manual orchard sprayer 6.1.5 Disconnecting the orchard sprayer from the tractor ATTENTION: Moving a disconnected orchard sprayer should be done by hand, by using the drawbar. Do not use a hoist or a lift truck. When you disconnect the orchard sprayer from the tractor, the orchard sprayer should be firmly placed on a flat, even surface.
User Manual orchard sprayer • have an EC value (electrical conductivity) lower than 1; • have a temperature between 9°C and 25°C. 6.2.2 Pesticides WARNING: It is strongly recommended not to mix different pesticides in unlimited quantities. The chemical reactions between pesticides of different manufacturers are difficult to predict. Thoroughly mix the pesticides and the solvent (water), in order to obtain a homogenous spraying liiquid.
User Manual orchard sprayer Pesticides that come in powder form can be dissolved outside the tank. Afterwards, gradually pour the solution on to the filling sieve. The filling sieves sifts the non-dissolved substances out of the spraying liquid. An optional mixing installation is available for dissolving and mixing products that come in powder form.
