    Follow-up Screen...
  • Page 5 Follow-up Screen When an Evia is interrogated, the Follow-up screen will appear. This screen provides an overview of device information and a checklist of the diagnostic tests run during each follow-up. The tests can be performed in any order, if done manually. When Start tests is selected, the tests are initiated in the order listed on the Follow-up screen.
  • Page 6 Follow-up Screen...
  • Page 7 Follow-up Screen Episodes List: This section will display episodes that occurred since the last follow-up. Any episodes listed will link to the corresponding Holter recordings. Test Results: Selecting any of the links provided will display the associated testing screen. Patient/Device Status: Battery, implant, last follow-up, and Home Monitoring status information are available here.
  • Page 8 Follow-up Screen...
  • Page 9 Follow-up Screen Automatically Measured Value: Data with the symbol shown to the left represent the value obtained by the most recent automatic test measurement performed in the previous 24 hours. When the diagnostic tests are run, the follow-up test results will replace these values.
  • Page 10: Trendview Screen

    TrendView Screen...
  • Page 11 TrendView Screen TrendView provides a single-page snapshot of heart rate, percentage of pacing, pacing threshold, sensing, and impedance values since the last follow-up. Pacing threshold is only present if ACC/VCC is ON. Blank spaces may appear if a value was unable to be measured, such as no underlying rhythm or ACC/VCC OFF.

    Manual Follow-Up...
  • Page 13 Manual Follow-up Access the tests via the links on the Follow-up screen, or select the Tests button to view the follow-up tests. Perform each test by selecting the corresponding tab. The following tests should be performed at every follow-up: • Impedance (automatically performed every 30 seconds with Evia) • Sensing • Pacing Threshold A retrograde conduction test should be performed at the initial follow-up after implant...
  • Page 14: Impedance Test

    Impedance Test...
  • Page 15 Impedance Test Evia performs an impedance test every 30 seconds in bipolar and unipolar configurations. The impedance test is performed with subthreshold outputs. Bipolar and unipolar values are displayed on the impedance screen. Evia displays the permanently programmed pacing polarity value on the main follow-up screen. To obtain new pacing impedance values, remove the programmer wand for at least 30 seconds and reinterrogate the device.
  • Page 16: Sensing Test

    Sensing Test...
  • Page 17 Sensing Test To access the sensing test, select the Sensing tab under the Tests section of the programmer. The Start and Cancel test buttons are found on the lower right-hand corner of the screen. The device will automatically measure the minimum, mean, and maximum sensed amplitudes for the atrium and ventricle if DDI is selected.
  • Page 18 Sensing Test...
  • Page 19 Sensing Test In addition to running the A&V sensing test, the intrinsic rhythm test can also provide sensing measurements using the patient’s underlying rhythm. Please keep in mind: No back-up pacing is active when running the intrinsic rhythm test (i.e., the mode is ODO). If the patient’s conduction status is not known, it is advisable to run the sensing test using the Start button.
  • Page 20: Pacing Threshold Test

    Pacing Threshold Test...
  • Page 21 Pacing Threshold Test Select the Start button on the bottom-right corner of the screen to begin the pacing threshold test. By default, the device will pace at a rate of 90 ppm. The threshold test parameters may need to be adjusted if the patient’s presenting rate is faster than 90 bpm.
  • Page 22 Pacing Threshold Test...
  • Page 23 Pacing Threshold Test The threshold test will start with the currently programmed pacing amplitude. The initial morphology will be stored as a reference in the far-right capture window at the top of the screen. Select the Reduce test amplitude button to step down the voltage, or manually select values on the screen until capture is lost.
  • Page 24 Pacing Threshold Test...
  • Page 25 Pacing Threshold Test Repeat this test in the other chamber to finish this portion of the follow-up. The testing mode can be changed by selecting Mode under the Test program portion of the screen. Additionally, if there is difficulty determining loss of capture using the ECG signal, the IEGM signal may be used.
  • Page 26: Retrograde Conduction Test

    Retrograde Conduction Test...
  • Page 27 Retrograde Conduction Test A retrograde conduction test should be conducted on a patient with a suspected retrograde pathway or vulnerability to pacemaker-mediated tachycardia (PMT). The mode for the test is VDI. To begin the test, click on the Start/Cancel button. The programmer will report the minimum, mean, and maximum V-A intervals.
  • Page 28: Automatic Follow-Up

    Automatic Follow-up...
  • Page 29 Automatic Follow-up To perform an automatic follow-up: Press the Start button to begin the tests selected on the Follow-up screen When the Start tests button is pressed, the sensing tests and ventricular threshold test will be performed by the programmer. Once the sensing tests and ventricular threshold test are completed, the Pacing threshold test screen will automatically appear so the atrial threshold test can be performed.
  • Page 30: Reviewing Diagnostics

    Reviewing Diagnostics...
  • Page 31 Reviewing Diagnostics Reviewing diagnostics can provide valuable data related to the patient’s therapy. To view the statistics, select the Diagnostics tab on the right side of the screen and proceed through the various tabs. Restart the diagnostics by selecting Restart on the Diagnostics tab at the end of the follow-up.
  • Page 32: Reviewing Holter Recordings

    Reviewing Holter Recordings...
  • Page 33 Reviewing Holter Recordings The Holter recordings should be reviewed to evaluate arrhythmias at each follow-up. Select the Recordings tab to view a listing of all episodes since the last follow-up. Recorded events are in reverse chronological order. Each episode listing provides the date/time of the event, type and duration of the event, as well as the maximum ventricular heart rate during the event.
  • Page 34 Reviewing Holter Recordings...
  • Page 35 Reviewing Holter Recordings Once the icon for a particular event has been selected, the IEGM will be displayed on the screen. The black vertical line indicates when the event-detection criterion was met. The arrow buttons on the right side of the screen move the cursors to allow measurements of events.

    Reviewing Follow-up History...
  • Page 37 Reviewing Follow-up History Press the icon under the Patient section of the Follow-up page to view previous follow-up information for the device. The device stores data for the last 10 follow-ups, including the implant data, for comparison. Only one follow-up is stored per day. If more than one test is performed, only the last one is stored on the page.
  • Page 38: Printing The Follow-Up

Printing the Follow-up Once the follow-up is completed, the information can be printed through two methods: 1. The Follow-up screen can be printed to summarize all the test values obtained. 2. The entire follow-up, along with the statistics and viewed Holters, can be printed through the Print Manager on the follow-up screen, or the Data Manager, found on the Implant list screen.
  • Page 39: Returning To The Implant List

After performing an Evia follow-up, always return to the Implant list screen before shutdown. Returning to the Implant list allows the programmer to perform a final data processing step that is necessary to later export files for PaceArt or BIOTRONIK clinical studies.
