SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS
All the TANAKA products are delivered
with an operation manual.
Please
read it carefully to get ac-
quainted
with the operation of your unit.
For further details,inquire your dealer.
O Before Operation
O Dress properly, do not wear loose
clothing or jewelry that could become
caught in moving parts of the unit.
@ Inspect the entire machine for loose
or lost parts before and after the
operation. (Nuts, bolts, screws, etc.)
Take special care of the tightening
of the sawchain.
@ Always
keep the unit clean. Clean
a fuel tank cap and around it, or the
air cleaner.
@ The operator must obey the local
reglations of cutting area.
@ Before felling a tree, the operator
must be accustomed
to the sawing
techniques of the chain saw.
@ Be sure of pre-plan a safe exit from
a falling tree.
O On Fuel
Ө Never operate the engine with gasoline
only.
@ Don't use gasoline containing-alcohol
or gasohol.
@ This engine uses a fue! mix of 25~50
parts regular gasoline to 1 part of
two-cycle oil.
The fuel should be premixed
prior
to pouring into the fuel tank.
Ф |f the fuel is spilled over the unit,
wipe it off thoroughly.
@ Keep an open flame away because
fuel vapors are flammable.
O Never smoke or allow a flame to
come close to the unit while mixing
fuel, filling the tank or maintaining
the unit.
@ Fill the tank after the engine stopped
and became cold. Do not fill while it
is running or is hot soon after stopping.
Ф During Operation
@ Never start or run the engine inside
a closed room or building.
Fumes from the exhaust is poisonous.
@ Keep children away.Onlookers should
be kept at a safe distance from the work
area,at least 10 feet (3 meters)
@ Do not overreach. Hold the grip or
the handle firmly and keep proper
footing and balance at all times by
opening your feet.
@ During a heavy work, be always with
a partner.
@ While cutting, hold saw firmly with
both hands with thumb firmly locked
around front handle, and stand with
feet well balanced
and your body
balanced.
@ Stand to the side of the saw when
cutting-never directly behind it.
@ Always keep the spike damper face
to a tree, because
the chain
may
suddenly be drawn into a tree.
© Never let the chain strike any obstacle.
If the chain contact,the machine should
be stopped and checked carefully.
@ Be alert against kickback (when saw
kicks up and back at operator) particularly
when cutting with the nose of the
bar.
@ To stop the engine, release the throttle
trigger, and allow the engine return
to idle and then push the ignition
switch to the "OFF" position while
pulling the starter handle slightly.
@ Keep all parts of your body and clothing
away from the saw chain when starting
or running the engine.
€ Make sure the automatic oiler is working.
Keep the oil tank filled with clean oil.
Never let chain run dry on the bar.
