Alpine X009U Manual

The start up on the X009U, X009-GM and X009-FD1 may be delayed when the Navigation "Configuration
Wizard" has not been set up properly. To avoid this happening follow these steps.
After completion of the installation and initial power up of the unit, it is essential that you complete all
the initial Navigation "Configuration Wizard" steps and allow the unit to lock onto the GPS satellite
signal and locate itself before powering down. Failure to do so may result in longer than normal boot
times. In the event the customer has already taken delivery of the vehicle and returns stating they are
experiencing abnormally long boot times the solution is simple and only takes a few minutes.
Reset procedure for X009U, X009-GM and X009-FD1
1. Vehicle must be outside receiving GPS signal.
2. From the Map screen touch "menu" and then the setup button.
3. From the settings menu select "Reset Defaults". After the Navigation reboots to the language
select screen do nothing.
4. Press the "Audio Button" to return to the audio screen.
5. Touch "Setup", then select "General" and from the General settings select "About".
6. Touch "Restore Factory Settings" and then "Ok" two times to verify.
7. Once the unit has restarted select your language from the audio screen.
8. Press the Navigation button and select your menu language, then touch "Done".
9. The EULA (End User License Agreement) will be displayed, touch "Accept".
10. The Configuration Wizard will open, touch "Next".
11. The voice language screen will be displayed, select your preference and touch "Next".
12. The units and Formats screen will be displayed select your preferences and touch "Next".
13. The Route Settings screen will be displayed select your preferences and touch "Next".
14. "Configuration Wizard Completed" will be displayed, touch "Finish".
15. The "Disclaimer" screen will be displayed. Touch "Accept".
16. Allow the unit to "Fix" it's GPS position before switching the ignition off.
The unit has been successfully reset and your customer should experience normal boot times.
Here is the reset procedure for X008U and INE-W957HD
1. Using a ball point pen press the reset button on the lower left of the nose piece.
2. Once the unit starts up select your language from the audio screen.
Avoid Delayed Startup
