Chapter 1. Introduction SIL Application The PanaFlow HT with appropriate flow meter selection can be a SIL2 ultrasonic flowmeter (sensor) with the capability of providing a SIL3 system in a redundant design configuration. The PanaFlow HT system is IEC61508 certified (when selection) through a complete design validation from a third-party organization. By achieving a third-party certification, we have proven the required design rigor through the product safety lifecycle, and the implementation of functional safety management.
