Analog source playback
The following operations are for conventional record and
cassette playback, FM broadcast reception, and compact
disc or DAT cassette playback on CD players or DAT
decks that don't have digital terminals.
Before beginning
@ Set the VOLUME control to oo.
@ Setthe MUTING switchto

@ Set the REC SELECTOR switch to AUX.
@ Turnon all the components.
After the amplifier's power has been turned on, the
amplifier cannot be used for a few seconds while the
protection circuit is engaged. The POWER indicator will
be flashing at this time.

1 Set the SPEAKERS switch accordingly.
Set the DIRECT OPERATION
switch to SOURCE
or
OFF.
Akai recommends
the SOURCE
position for pure
sound playback.
When the DIRECT OPERATION switch is set to D/A,
the sound will be inaudible.
Select a playback source with the INPUT SELECTOR
switch.
Set to PHONO
Set to TUNER
Set to CD
Set to TAPE/DAT
Set to AUX
Broadcast reception
Compact disc playback
DAT or cassette tape playback
Auxiliary source playback
Peco playback
4 Playback the selected source.
5 Adjust the playback volume with the VOLUME control.
Note
For good sound playback of an auxiliary source, set the
REC SELECTOR to PHONO or TUNER.

Setthe INPUT SELECTOR switch to TAPE/DAT.

Setthe TAPE SELECTOR switch as follows:
Playback with a deck connect-
ed to the TAPE 1 jacks
Playback with a deck connect-
ed to the TAPE 2 jacks
Playback with a deck connect-
ed to the TAPE 3 jacks
Set to TAPE 1
Set to TAPE 2
Set to TAPE 3

Start cassette playback.
