Use of the freezer
The freezer compartment of this model
is of the «frost-free» type. This means
that no frosting occurs on the inner
walls of the compartment or on food
during operation. The absence of
frosting is achieved by constant
circulation of cold air inside the
compartment, produced by an automatic
fan blower.
The freezer is marked with the
symbol, which means that the
compartment is suitable for freezing
*
ds and for long-term storage of
tıuzen foods.
Operation of freezer
For correct storage of frozen and deep-
frozen foods, freezer temperature should
be at least —18°C or colder. To do this,
we recommend that you turn knob «B»
to an intermediate position. The freezer's
temperature is thus automatically set for
good food storage.
If the appliance is being used in
abnormal conditions — e.g. poor
ventilation, high or low room
temperature and/or frequent opening of
appliance's door — the setting must be
adjusted accordingly. In these cases knob
«B» must be turned to the higher
settings to obtain a lower temperature,
or to the lower settings to obtain a
'
her temperature.
Freezer operation can be halted by
turning knob «B» (Fig. 4) to position «@».
Important
Tf the timer controlling the cooling cycle is
on the defrost setting, the
motocompressor of the freezer does not
start before defrosting has ultimated
(approx. 30 minutes).
This may occur when the appliance is first
installed or when the user starts up the
refrigerator after an idle period.
Quick freezing
Turn knob «A» (Fig. 4) to position «S»
(«SUPER»). The pilot light «E» will then
light up.
Thermometer
(for models featuring this device)
This indicates the average temperature
of foods stored in the freezer
compartment.
If the door is opened too often or is left
open for too long, there might be a slight
variation in the temperature indicated.
There will be marked variations if the
quantity of food frozen at any one time
exceeds the maximum indicated on the
rating plate.
Warning light «F» (Fig. 4)
This light warns when the temperature
inside the freezer compartment has
increased so much as to jeopardize the
preservation of foods in the
compartment. When the appliance is
switched on for the first time or when
foods are placed in the compartment for
freezing, this light remains on until the
temperature has reached the level
required for correct storage.
