    BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME Fill to max, boil, discard the water, then rinse. Do this twice to remove any manufacturing dust, etc. FILLING Remove the lid. Fill with at least 1 cup of water, but not above max. Never fill the kettle above the MAX marking.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE Unplug the stand, and let the kettle cool before cleaning. Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth. Remove the lid. Slide the filter up and out of the guides (fig A). Rinse the filter under a running tap while brushing with a soft brush. Slide the filter down, into the guides.

    TOASTING BREAD Sit the toaster upright on a firm, level, heat-resistant surface. Put the plug into the power socket. Turn the browning control to the required setting (1 = light, 6 = dark). Put bread into the toasting slots (maximum thickness 26mm). Press the lever down fully.
