Commissioning

Caution:
This product is assembled with great care and thoroughly checked. All units undergo a computerised check before
leaving the factory. Please check your machine for transport damage after unpacking. In case such damage is
detected, please notify your supplier immediately. Ensure that the mains voltage matches the machine's rated
voltage as shown on its name plate. The connection is made to the alternating current mains supply 1 ~ 230 V.
Therefore, it can be connected to any light flux socket. The supply circuit needs to be protected by a 16 amp time-
lag fuse. Operation of other electrical equipment on the same circuit while welding is limited.
Pure argon (of at least 99.998 % purity) is preferably used for WIG welding. The gas connection must be by means
of a suitable pressure reducer (max. 10 bar). The earth pliers must be provided with a connecting cable with

minimum 16 mm
. After pressing the main switch (1), the machine is ready to operate.

Application

The inverter welding device ST 140/60 DC is a primary synchronised full inverter, which is suitable for welding bar
electrodes and the WIG welding DC (Option).
The electrode diameter and the required welding current are selected according to the parts to be welded.
Dust, dirt or iron chips damage any welding device. You must take special care to ensure that the air supply remains
intact for cooling.
Before beginning with the welding work, the locations to be welded must be cleaned of dust, rust, grease and paint.
Similarly, slags from previous welding work must be removed.
Attach earth clamp firmly to work piece, assuring good metal to metal contact. Check if all cable connections and the
cable are also in proper working order to achieve the best possible current flow.
