INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

The HDMIC5IR extends your HDTV display up to 120 feet away from your HDTV source using two
CAT-5 cables. It is equipped with HDMI™ (high definition multimedia interface) connectors and is
capable of supporting DVI (digital visual interface) equipment when used with a HDMI to DVI Adapter,
providing greater flexibility and options when integrating several home theater components.
• Extends high definition displays up to 120 feet (35 meters) from the source at 1080i
• Extends high definition displays up to 70 feet (21 meters) from the source at 1080p
• Improved automatic compensation for cable skew and delay
• Eliminates equipment noise in the viewing environment
• Supports resolutions up to 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 720i, 480p, 480i
• Audio and video are transmitted digitally over the CAT-5e cable for zero signal loss

    Point to Point HDMI & IR /CAT5 Balun Extender The HDMIC5IR extends your HDTV display up to 120 feet away from your HDTV source using two CAT-5 cables.   • Page 2 STEP 2 – SOURCE EQUIPMENT CONNECTION Connect the TRANSMITTER box to a source component such as a HD Cable Box or HD DVD player. Use an HDMI cable that is as short as possible between the HDMIC5IR TRANSMITTER and the source component.
  • Page 3 APPLICATION The figure above shows a common installation where the HDMIC5IR is used to deliver entertainment content to another room. Using CAT5 cabling, the source component can be located in a remote location. The source component can be controlled using an IR receiver.
  • Page 4 Xantech warrants the equipment it manufactures to be free from defects in material and workmanship. If equipment fails because of such defects and Xantech is notified within two (2) years from the date of shipment, Xantech will, at its option, repair or replace the equipment, provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical, electrical, or other abuse or modifications.
