Operation
The appliance has two completely
indipendent compartments - one for
refrigeration and the other for
deep-freezing. The upper compartment
is a normal refrigerator suitable for
storing food and drinks. The lower
compartment is a deep-freezer EEE5
for long-term storage of frozen food
marked with 3 stars (t*»*J) (i.e.
3 months, unless otherwise
stated by manufacturer), for freezing
fresh foods and also for making ice
cubes. Do not eyceed the storage limits
for the star rating of the frozen food
packets given by the manufacturers.
Refrigerator-Starting Up,
Temperature Regulation
and Storage
The start the refrigerator turn the knob
of the thermostat clockwise beyond
the « • » position. The temperature
increases (less cold) by turning the
thermostat knob anti-clockwise;
it decreases (more cold) turning it
clockwise. A medium setting is generally
the most suitable. However, a higher
setting (more cold) may be requered
if the refrigerator is affected by
abnormal operating conditions such as
poor ventilation, high ambient
temperature and frequent door opening.
To obtain the best results from the
refrigerator neither hot food nor liquids,
which may evaporate, should be placed
inside the refrigerator compartment;
cover all food, particularly food with a
strong aroma; place meat to be stored
in a special hermetically-sealed box,
which should be put on the first shelf
under the evaporator; do not pack
shelves too tightly or cover shelves with
paper, so as not to abstruct the free
circulation of air.
Refirigerator-Defrosting
The ice which forms on the evaporator
whilst the appliance is operating is
automatically removed every time the
motor compressor stops. The defrost
water runs down a special trough to a
tray where it evaporates.
Deep-Freezer - Starting-Up and
Temperature Regulation
To start the deep-freezer, push the
«I/0» switch to the «I» position.
In this position a green light comes
on indicating that the electricity supply
to the freezer is on. To get the right
temperature either for freezing fresh
foods or storing frozen foods, push the
«S/N» switch to the «S» position
(freezing) or to the «N» position (storage)
as may be required.
Deep-Freezer - Freezing of Foods
If the appliance has not worked
previously, it must be l^ft to run for at
least three hours with W witch, on
«S» before loading with food to be
frozen. If, however, the appliance is
already running, just push the switch
to «S» and introduce the food
to be frozen. On the «S» setting,
the motor compressor runs continuously
thereby ensuring perfect deep-freezing.
After the appliance has been running
for 24 hours, push the switch to «N».
In order to freeze foods properly,
proceed as follows:
only use top quality foodstuffs which are
fresh and properly cleaned, since
freezing preserves quality but can not
improve it;
prepare foodstuffs for deep-freezing in
small portions so that each piece can
be frozen rapidly right the way through.
This procedure allows you to use as
required, complete portions rather than
thawing out a large piece when only a
small amount is needed. Remember that
frozen food once thawed, deteriorates
rapidly if frozen again;
