IMPORTANT (For the customers in the United Kingdom)
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the
following code:
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this acoaratus may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your
plug proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured biue must be
connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured
black.
The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
To maintain good performance
© Do not use the unit in places whicn are extremely hot, cold, dusty or
humid.
Avoid keeping inside a car parked in the sun on a hot day. Keep out of
direct sunlight, and away from heaters.
¢ Should any troubles occur, turn off the power and refer servicing to
qualified personnel only.
Usable power sources
The unit may be powered by the rechargeable battery (AIWA PB-4),
two RO3 (AAA) batteries, or on AC house current using an optional
AC adaptor.

« As some models have a voltage selector switch, check that the rated
voltage of your unit matches your focal voltage. Either 100-120V or
220-240V can be selected.
Note
The OPE/BATT (operation/battery) indicator may light up or the tape may
move in the following cases, but there is no problem;
— when a rechargeable battery is inserted
— when the battery case is attached
— when the headphones are connected
— when the unit is attached to the charger stand.
To reset
if operated while the batteries are low, erroneous display/operation may
occur. If this happens, reset as follows.
1. Thoroughly recharge (if rechargeable battery) or replace with new
ones (if regular dry cells).
2. Simultaneously press the main unit's MEMORY/SET button and the
UP/HOUR button.
3. Preset the clock and radio information once again.
When used for the first time
\f data for clock and radio seem difficult to preset first by following the
preceding procedures.
