Replacing the Grass
Deflector
WARNING
An uncovered discharge opening could allow
the lawn mower to throw objects at you or
bystanders, resulting in serious injury. Also,
contact with the blade could occur.
Never operate the lawn mower unless you
install a cover plate, mulch plate, grass
deflector, or bagger.
1. Remove the locknut, bolt, spring, and spacer
holding the deflector to the pivot brackets
(Figure 104).

2. Remove damaged or worn grass deflector.
3. Place spacer and spring onto the grass deflector.
Place a J-end of spring behind deck edge.
Note:
Ensure that a J-end of spring is installed

5. Place a J-hook end of spring around grass
deflector
Important:
