Examine the inflation mechanism status indicators. The Inflation Mechanism Status Indicators will tell you if the inflation mechanism is properly ARMED/REARMED and ready for activation. See below for a description of the inflator status indicators: includes the indications to when a LALIZAS automatic inflator is ready for use (OK) and to when it should be serviced (STOP). - Page 6 Then repeat 3.10 to check its function. Note: LALIZAS recommends that in every annual inspection of the lifejacket, the water-activated device (code 00340) should be checked for its good condition and if necessary you replace it.

Physical Inspection of Cover, Straps and Chambers - Examine outer shell fabric, seams, webbing attachments, buckles, slides, etc. Fabric fading can indicate a loss of strength. The only check of the 2 manual inflation system (with CO2 cylinder and green indicator tab removed) would be to determine that the lever and piercing pin move freely when moving the lever (attached to the manual lever) several times down and up, as explained previously in this manual.
