Refreshing rechargeable battery
If the rechargeable battery seems to run down sooner than usual (maybe because of
repetitive short-term charging and discharging), refresh the rechargeable battery two to
three times by following the instructions below.
1
Disconnect the player from your computer and the AC adaptor.
2
Play an audio CD repeatedly to completely consume the rechargeable
battery.

until "ALL" is displayed and play an audio CD repeatedly until the
. i "" mark appears and the power goes off.
CHG
Connect the AC adaptor, turn on the player and press

player until the blinking mark "7/5 <\" appears.
Charge the rechargeable battery until the mark ";4/5 '" disappears
and the power goes off.

Replace the rechargeable battery:
* {f the rechargeable battery quickly runs down even after refreshing (it has reached the
end of its life).
Note:
* The rechargeable battery will cycle approximately 300 times under optimum condi-
tion.
@ Removing the rechargeable battery:
@ Open the battery cover.
@ Pull the ribbon upward.
© Disconnect the rechargeable
battery connector by pulling its
cable carefully, then remove the
rechargeable battery.
© Close the battery cover.
