The battery will maintain the clock and alarm settings in the event of a power failure. The battery back-up requires one 9V battery (not included). Getting Started RADIO Operation Unpacking Pull the packing materials off the unit. Remove the plastic bag covering the radio. Press OPEN (23) to open the CD DOOR. Remove the cardboard shipping card from the CD Player. Unwind FM Antenna (24) and allow it to hang straight down.
