Plug the DVD recorder's electrical plug into a
wall socket or power strip.
Press the ON / STANDBY button on the front
panel, or the I/_ button on the remote control to
turn the DVD recorder on.
When the DVD player's splash screen appears
on your TV, you're ready to go!

• If this screen does not appear, please check the
Video connection ( 26,28,31 and 32) or HDMI
indicator ( page 31 ).
This is the easiest way to fill your channel list with
those channels available in your area. The unit scans
for channels automatically.
Press SETUP to enter the Setup Menu. Select
the TV channel with the A/v keys.
Press ENTER to bring up the menu to select your
connection type (Antenna or Cable), use the
A/v keys to select and press ENTER.

Choose this option to clear the channel list of all your
previous changes. ( page 48)
The recorder uses the Time and Date values to
determine when to begin and end Scheduled
Recordings.
Press SETUP to enter the Setup Menu.
Use the A/v keys to select General and press
ENTER. Use theA/v keys to select Clock and
press ENTER.
Use _/v keys to select a field and then press
ENTER.

Use the _ v/_/), keys to set the value of the
field and press ENTER.
Press RETURN to exit the Clock Menu.
Select the Clock Menu and press ENTER. The
Clock screen appears with the following options.
• Clock Settings - Set the time. This setting will
show AM or PM.
o Date Settings - Set the date. Use 2-digit year
format.
Once you have configured your channels, you can
begin using the recorder's built-in TV TUNER for
Recording or simply watching your favorite programs.
When the unit is first turned on, the DVD
PLAYBACK mode is selected by default. Press
INPUT SELECT and use the ,_/_,and ENTER
keys to switch to TUNER mode.
Use the ^/V keys to change channels while
watching TV. Alternatively, you can enter a
channel number directly with NUMBER keys,
and press ENTER.
To return to DVD Playback mode, press the
INPUT SELECT key and select DVD at any time.
Once your Antenna or Cable TV input is connected
to the connector on the back of the unit, you can
setup the recorder's built-in TV Tuner by auto-
scanning for available channels and then adding or
deleting the channels you choose.
Press SETUP to enter the Setup Menu.
Select the TV channel with the A/v keys and
press ENTER.
