Troubleshooting Guide
Before requesting service for this unit, check the chart below for a possible cause of the problem you
are experiencing. Some simple checks or a minor adjustment on your part may eliminate the problem
and restore proper operation.
If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or if the remedies indicated in the chart do not solve
the problem, refer to the directory of Authorized Service Centers (enclosed with this unit) to locate a
convenient Service center, or consult your dealer for instructions.

is powered by the battery pack.
The unit turns off after it has been stopped for about
15 minutes {5 minutes when using the battery pack} to
conserve power. Turn the unit on again.
Charging is only possible in standby mode.
The charging time increases if the battery pack is warm and
charging may not be possible under some circumstances.
Wait for the battery pack to cool off.
Check connection to the AC adaptor.
The battery pack has protection Circuitry that activates if the
pack becomes too hot or too cold. The battery pack will not
work if this occurs. Use the unit at about 20 °C (68 °F).
Condensation may have formed in the unit. Wait an hour for
it to clear.
This unit cannot play discs other than those specified.
Wipe the disc clean.
Unit turns off
automatically.
Cannot charge battery
pack or the [CHG]
indicator fails to light.
Unit doesn't work when
powered by the battery
pack.
Play fails to start or stops
soon after starting.
Ensure the disc is inserted correctly.
