On the FM band
¢ The T-type FM antenna has not been extended,
or it is not properly orientated.
Sound distortion
eAre the signals weak and reception poor?
*Static

appliances
(particularly
automobiles) or multipath reflection
(radio waves beamed off mountains and tall
buildings hence not received directly.)
On the AM band
¢ Poor positioning of AM loop antenna?
¢ The supplied AM loop antenna is in contact with
the unit.
eAre the signals weak and reception poor?
eNoise
from
other
electrical
appliances
(fluorescent lights/motors)

* Antenna input is insufficient because of weak
broadcast signals.
¢ The unit is not correctly tuned to the frequency
of the broadcast station.
*MPX MODE switch is set to MONO.
FM stereo broadcasts not
received in stereo.

Remedy
e Reconnect the power cord.
¢ Connect them properly to the TUNER terminals
on the amplifier.
eConnect the antenna properly.
e Preset MEMORY.
¢Tune the station in correctly.
*Connect the antenna properly.
eExtend
both ends fully, and face it in the
direction giving best reception.
¢ Replace the supplied T-type FM antenna for an
outdoor antenna.
¢Set the MPX MODE
switch to MONO.
(The
broadcast will be received in monaural).
¢ Try changing the antenna installation place. If
you are using an outdoor antenna, move it away
from the street and/or change the connector
cable for a 750 coaxial cable.
eChange antenna direction, and set it in the
position giving best reception.
¢ Move the loop antenna away from the unit.
eInstall and connect an external AM antenna,
and ground the unit.
* Stop using the noise-generating equipment, or
move it away.
eUse a multi-element FM antenna.
¢Tune the correct frequency in.
Set the MPX
MODE
switch to STEREO
or
Hi-Blend
