This installation guide has been written and revised carefully. The guidance and the descriptions which are included in it are in reference to VIDEX parts and are correct at the time of print. However, subsequent VIDEX parts and installation guides, can be subject to changes without prior notice.
The WS4 web access system allows full access control via the internet, wherever you are and with any device: smartphone, tablet or PC (via the WS4 browser software [version 2.60], WS4 Web Portal [cloud platform] or via the WS4 Mobile Apps for both iOS and Android devices).
1 DOOR CONTROLLER - WS4CU1/ WS4CU1-4G CABINET (WS4-1D-E PCB) The 1 door control cabinet WS4CU1/WS4CU1-4G contains a WS4-1D-E pcb, Fig.1, with easy access to the pcb terminals. The cabinet also has a 14.2Vdc, 3.2A switched mode power supply. The WS4CU1-4G version also includes a 4G wireless router.

4 DOOR CONTROLLER - WS4CU4/ WS4CU4-4G CABINET (WS4-4D-E PCB) The 4 door controller cabinet WS4CU4/WS4CU4-4G contains a WS4-4D-E pcb, Fig.3, with easy access to the pcb terminals. The cabinet also contains a 14.2Vdc, 5A switched mode power supply. The WS4CU4-4G version also includes a 4G wireless router.

DOOR CONTACT INPUTS Door contacts (if required) can be connected to the door contact inputs DC and GND on the various WS4 access control PCBs and can be configured and setup via the WS4 browser, WS4 web portal and WS4 mobile access app.

Import and export: import and export users as .csv file type (separated by TAB). Easy saving of data: on a USB drive via the USB port on the WS4 pcb or on the user interface. Free access period: with "only if someone is inside" option.
CONNECTING SLAVE CONTROLLERS The WS4 system can manage up to 10 controllers (WS4-1D-E and WS4-4D-E pcbs) in the same installation with up to 20 doors in total, whether single or double. When connected in this way one controller must be set as a master while the others set as slave devices.

Push to exit buttons should be configured as a push-to-make switch (normally open going closed). A minimum of 2 cores will be required between the WS4 control pcb and the exit button (if connecting an MTTBK-EXIT button then a minimum of 4 cores will be required).

MOUNTING THE WS4 CONTROL CABINET The WS4 control cabinets are suitable for fixed installations only and should only be fitted to solid walls. Before fixing the cabinet to the wall it is recommended that any of the cabinet knockouts required are removed first and suitable 20mm grommets fitted where necessary.

INITIAL CONNECTION AND SETUP OF READERS & KEYPADS Refer to the table of readers on page 6 for compatible RS485 readers and keypads that can be connected to the WS4 control pcbs. Also on page 6 refer to the reader addressing notes to setup the desired door configuration, then following the installation notes and the example wiring diagrams on the previous pages connect the readers and/or keypads to the WS4 control pcb.

ID 1.0 and door ID 1.1 will now be shown combined in the name column as Mifare Reader IN/OUT, as shown in Fig.33. 11. As before the check box under the public column will be seen. Check the public box if you wish to use the WS4 web portal cloud platform or the WS4 mobile apps.
Schedules are used in the configuration of the doors and categories of users and it is possible to create up to 50 different schedules in the WS4 installation. Each schedule represents the 7 days of the week, plus a special case for holidays and is referred to a weekly schedule.

FACTORY RESET FOR A 1 DOOR & 2 DOOR CONTROLLER (WS4-1D-E PCB) Although switch 1 on the 2 way slide switch is used to setup the WS4-1D-E pcb to operate in a LAN network or stanalone configuration it is also used to perform a factory reset of the control pcb. Follow the steps below to factory reset the WS4 control pcb.

If the login name and password is lost or forgotten it is possible to temporarily reset them for up to 5 minutes to allow the administrator to log back into the WS4 system and create new login details. This is achieved by using switch 1 on the 2 way slide switch. Follow the steps below to temporarily reset the login name and password.
HTTPS, DynDNS & PORT FORWARDING SETUP In order to manage the WS4 system remotely via the WS4 Web Portal (cloud platform) or via the WS4 mobile apps port forwarding will be required on the local network router into which the WS4 controller is connected to.

Remote Access with Port Forwarding 7. In the example below, Fig.74, the fixed IP address 192.168.1.29 has been assigned to the WS4 controller and also to match the IP address configured in the local network router (refer back to Fig.69, ).

Once port forwarding has been setup on the local network router and the WS4 controller has been configured for remote access on the local network the next step is to enable the controller to allow for access via the WS4 Portal. To do this follow the steps below.

5. The register prompt will be displayed, as shown in Fig.79. Enter your details: firstname, lastname, a working email address and create a password for the WS4 Portal login (the password must be at least a minimum of 6 characters in length and must contain at least one uppercase and one lowercase character, a number and a symbol).
• Additionally the WS4 App will show the entrance status of the system, for example if there are any alarms on the system or any power issues on site. WS4 Access App - This version of the mobile app has been designed for users to use for access control purposes as an alternative to the traditional fob/card or coded access.
LOSS OF POWER TO THE WS4 CONTROLLER In the event that power to the WS4 controller/pcb is low or lost there are a series of system checks that can be covered to determine the nature of the power loss. The following table can be used to help diagnose and resolve any power issues that might occur.
