The Femometer FC-IR205 may show a temperature of 32°C and not measure ear temperature correctly due to several possible reasons:
1. Incorrect Positioning: The thermometer must be properly positioned in the ear canal to get an accurate reading. Ensure the ear is pulled correctly (straight back for infants under 1 year, up and back for older children and adults) to align the ear canal.
2. Obstruction in the Ear: Earwax or other blockages can interfere with infrared readings. Ensure the ear is clean before taking a measurement.
3. Environmental Factors: The thermometer should be kept in the same room for at least 30 minutes before measuring to acclimate to the environment.
4. Improper Use: The probe cover must be removed for ear mode, and the measurement should be taken correctly by pressing the button for one second.
5. Device Malfunction: If the thermometer consistently shows low readings, it may need calibration or battery replacement.
By addressing these factors, the thermometer should provide more accurate ear temperature readings.

Hi, the thermometer seems really difficult to use and know that this should be simple so apologies. Once inserted in the ear canal and the temp button is pressed, then the audible bleep is heard once removed the numbers on the screen read 511 for a few seconds then disappear, you have then got to go to memory to get your reading, this can’t be correct is it?
Thanks in advance
