INSTALLATION OF THE VMIVME-7453
VMEbus FLOPPY/HARD DISK MODULE
The VMIVME-7453 is designed to be used in conjunction with the
VMIVME-7588 Pentium® microprocessor-based VMEbus CPU with 100-Mbit
Ethernet and Wide SCSI or the VMIVME-7686 Pentium® Pro microprocessor-based
VMEbus CPU. Use the following procedure to install the VMIVME-7453 to the
VMIVME-7588 or the VMIVME-7686. Use connector cable
attach the VMIVME-7453 to the CPU boards.
DO NOT POWER UP THE VMIVME-7453 WITHOUT IT BEING CONNECTED TO THE CPU BOARD.
THIS WILL CAUSE THE LOSS OF ANY CONFIGURATION ON THE VMIVME-7453 HARD DISK.
1.
Slide the VMIVME-7453 into the VMEbus chassis card guide
2.
Place the CPU board, component side up, on a flat surface.
3.
Attach the 360-000160-026 cable assembly to the CPU board by completing the
following two steps (See Figure 1).
a.
Connect the 34-pin female floppy drive side of the cable to the 34-pin male
connector on the CPU board.
b.
Connect the 40-pin female hard drive side of the cable to the 40-pin male
connector on the CPU board.
4.
Slide the CPU board into the chassis.
5.
Attach cable to the VMIVME-7453 front panel as shown in Figure 2.
