Use the remote control to select the tuner as the source.
* The remote control switches to the tuner operating mode.
EB Use the P.CALL key to select the desired station.
* Each time you press the key, another preset station is received in
order
Pressing the P.CALL (a) key (»») does the following:
01-02-—-03— ...... 38--39--40--01—-02--03—
Pressing the P.CALL (¥) key (#4) does the foliowing:
01+-02+-03— ...... 38+-39+-40+-01 +-02--03—
Holding down the key, lets you skip through the presets, receiv-
ing each for 0.5 seconds apiece.
This receiver is equipped with listening modes that allow
you to enjoy an enhanced sonic ambience with a variety of
video sources.
In order to obtain the optimum effect from the surround
modes, make sure to input the proper speaker settings
beforehand. = 13,

Dolby Digital (AC-3)
The Dolby Digital {AC-3} surround format jets you enjoy up to 5.1
channels of digital surround sound from Dolby Digital (AC-3) pro-
gram sources (suchas Laserdisc or DVD sottware marked OX) [beur)).

Compared with previous Dolby surround, Dolby Digital (AC-3) pro-
vides even better sound quality, greater spatial accuracy, and
improved dynamic range.
Note
Although a full set of speakers (front left, right, and center. surround
left and right, and a subwoofer) is required for true 5.1 channel Dolby
Digital (AC-3) surround sound. this receiver lets you enjoy Dolby
Digital (AC-3) (and Dolby Surround) program sources, even if you
connect only the front speakers. ("Speaker placement') ~ ih
"LFE = Low Frequency Effects. This channel detivers separate non-
directional bass signals to the subwoofer for more dynamic deep
bass sound effects.
Although only Dolby Digital (AC-3) soundtracks incorporate a sepa-
rate low frequency channel, connecting a subwoofer will aiso im-
prove deep bass performance :n the other surround modes.
The indication "LFE* appears in the display when a signal is being
input for this channel.
