METER OFF
Meter On/Off Button
Button engaged (OFF):
Meters are deactivated and meter illumination is out.
Button disengaged {ON) ;
Meters are operating and meter illumination is on.
I N PUT
Input Selector Button
Serves to select the type of input signal connected to INPUTS

Button engaged (BALANCED):
Balanced
input is selected and the"BALANCED'
LED lights up.
Button disengaged (UNBALANCED):

POWER
Power Switch
Engage this switch to activate the amplifier. Push once more
to release the switch and turn the amplifier off. For an interval
o f a b o u t f i v e s e c o n d s a f t e r o o w e r i s t u r n e d o n . t h e r e w i l l b e
no sound from the speakers, due to the action of the muting
c i r c u i t ,

one of these positions may be desirable when using the am-
p l i f i e r t o d r i v e m i d r a n g e o r h i g h - r a n g e s p e a k e r s i n a m u l t i -
amped system, where residual noise can be a problem. The
s e l e c t o r i s a l s o c o n v e n i e n t i n c a s e s w h e r e t h e u s e o f h i o h -
efficiency drivers makes Ievel matching difficult.
UNBALANCED/BALANCED
Input Type Indicators
These LEDs show the position selected with the input selec-
tor button p on the f ront panel.
Power Meters
The meter scale indicates the output level in dB (decibel) and
i n p e r c e n t ( % ) . T h e m e t e r s a r e c a l i b r a t e d f o r a 2 - o h m l o a d
(0 dB = 500 W). With a 4-ohm load, the figures must be halved,
a n d w i t h a n 8 - o h m l o a d d i v i d e d b y f o u r . O u t p u t l e v e l s w i t h
a s i n e - w a v e s i g n a l f o r v a r i o u s l o a d s a r e s h o w n i n t h e t a b l e
0etow.
T h e m e t e r s a r e p e a k - r e a d i n g t y p e s , w h i c h e n a b l e s t h e m t o
precisely follow the rapid changes in amplitude and frequency
t h a t a r e c o m m o n w i t h m u s i c s i g n a l s .
To make for easier reading, the decay time of the meters is
set to a lower value than the rlse time. lf the program source
contains noise or a large amount of transients, the meter jndi-
c a t i o n a n d t h e a u r a l v o l u m e i m p r e s s i o n m a y d i f f e r s l i g h t l y .
