Selectinga Digital Source
Toutilizeeither d igitalmode,youmusthaveproperly
connected a digitalsource to theAVR235 Connect
the digitaloutputs f rom DVDplayers. HDTV receiveTs,
satellite systems o r CDplayers to the Opticalor
Coaxia!Inputs _]_
Incidertu provide a

WhenDolbyDigital 5 /2/.1 or DTS5/2/,1 signals are
beingplayed, t heAVRwillautomaticafly switch to the
proper s urround mode,andno otherprocessir_g may
beselectedWhen a DolbyDigital s ignal w itha 3/1/0
or 2/0/0 signalisdetected, y oumayselect a nyof the
Dolby surround modes.
It is always a goodideato eheckthe readout for the
channel d atato makecertain thatit matches theaudio
logoinformation shown on the backof a DVDpack-
age.Insomecases, y ouwill seeanindication 1 or
"2/0/0" evenwhenthedisccontains a full5 1, or
3/2/.1, signalWhen thishappens, eheckthe audio
