Zoom in
The camera's 12X zoom lens allows you to choose
the best picture angle for each scene:
• Turn the zoom control towards W to zoom out to
wide-angle.
• Turn it towards T to zoom in to telephoto.
You can also control the speed of zooming:
• Move the control slightly to zoom slowly.
• Turn it further to zoom more quickly. (The further
you turn the zoom control, the faster the zoom
speed.)

The T and W buttons on the wireless controller
adjust the picture angle, but not the zoom speed:
• Press W to zoom out to wide-angle.
• Press T to zoom in to telephoto.

This display flashes if the
wide adapter is already
selected when the camera
is turned on.
The zoom operates within
this wide-angle range
when the wide adapter is
selected.
This built-in adapter gives an extrawide picture
angle.
1. Move the wide adapter switch to the
WiDE ANGLE position.
• BBliia appears in the viewfinder.
• If the zoom position is already inside the wide-
angle range, its setting does not change. If the
zoom is currently outside the wide-angle
range, it automatically moves all the way back
to the widest angle.
2. Make your recording.
• The zoom operates normally within the wide-
angle range, but telephoto recording is not
possible.
3. Return the wide adapter switch to its
previous position.
Notes;
• Overuse of the zoom may make recordings seem
too busy. It is generally better to use it sparingly,
or in order to reframe between shots.
• When you want to get as close as possible to
your subject, keep the zoom at the wide-angle
position. You can focus on a subject as close as
1 cm (3/8 in).
• Even slight hand movements will be noticeable
during telephoto recording. Use a tripod for
better results.
• To prevent dust getting inside the adapter, do not
leave it halfway between the WIDE ANGLE
position and the regular position.
