GC-408
OWNER'S MANUAL
We'd like to take a moment to thank you for purchasing the Roland GC-408 Guitar
Amplifier.
Before using this unit, carefully read the sections entitled: "IMPORTANT SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS"
(page 2), "USING THE UNIT SAFELY" (page 3), and
"IMPORTANT
NOTES" (page 4). These sections provide important information
concerning the proper operation of the unit. Additionally, in order to feel assured
that you have gained a good grasp of every feature provided by your new unit,
this manual should be read in its entirety. The manual should be saved and kept
on hand as a convenient reference.
Main Features
e With 60 watts of output, and four newly developed, 20 cm (8 inch) custom
speakers mounted in a closed-back cabinet, you are sure to achieve the powerful
sound you want. In addition, "Tube Logic Hot Technology*" produces a natural
feeling of drive, long-lasting sustain, and the perfect amount of compression.
The GC-408 gives you deep, tight low-range, and is sure to provide the guitar
sounds that you've been looking for.
e Two channels are provided—Clean and Lead—and you can use a footswitch to
switch channels. A footswitch can also be used to switch Boost on/off for the
lead channel.
e The Power Squeezer switch lets you achieve the tone of a fully-driven power
amp at a more restrained Power level.
e You have total control over your sound, with a three band equalizer optimally
tuned for electric guitar, and a Low Cut switch and a Presence control that modify
the tone in the power amp section. The GC-408 gives you an incredible range of
tonal versatility.
e The built-in spring reverb produces rich and spacious reverberation. A footswitch
can be used to turn reverb on/off.
e Send/Return jacks are provided for easy connection of external effects. Any
type of effect unit, from compact pedals to rack-mount equipment, can be
connected.
e The external speaker jack allows a specially designed GC-408S speaker box (sold
separately) to be stacked with the GC-408. This gives you 80 watts of output
from a total of eight speakers, for even more dynamic sound.
* Tube Logic Hot Technology
"Tube Logic Technology" reproduces the warm tone, creamy overdrive sound,
and sensitive response to the nuances of your playing that are characteristic of
vintage tube amps. Roland's analog circuitry technology has now taken this one
step further, to logically reproduce even the distortion characteristics and
dynamics of a fully driven vacuum tube pre-amp and power amp.
