6. Data activity and link LEDs

CIM 550 has connectivity LEDs related to the RJ45
connector.
DATA
The yellow LED indicates data traffic for the RJ45
connector.
Status Description
No data communication on RJ45

Flashing Data communication on RJ45 connector
LINK
The green LED shows whether the Ethernet cable is
properly connected to the RJ45 connector.
Status Description
Off No Ethernet Link on RJ45 connector
On Ethernet Link on RJ45 connector is OK

7. Fault finding

Switch off the power supply before you
start any work on the product. Make
sure that the power supply cannot be
switched on accidentally.

7.1 Fault detection and access to GiC

If CIM 550 is fitted in a Grundfos host
product or a CIU 90x, and if the host
product is powered, you can detect faults
by observing the status LEDs.
For access to the GiC cloud, you might
need an additional contract with Grundfos.
Observe the manual of the Grundfos host
product for access to CIM 550.
7.1.1 Both LEDs remain off
Both LED1 and LED2 remain off when the power
supply is connected.
Cause
CIM 550 is fitted
incorrectly in the
Grundfos host product.
CIM 550 is defective.
Remedy
• Make sure that CIM
550 is fitted and
connected correctly.
• Replace CIM 550.
Cause
CIU 900 is defective.
7.1.2 LED1 is off
Cause
CIM 550 is not
configured.
7.1.3 LED2 is flashing red
Cause
No internal
communication between
CIM 550 and the
Grundfos host product.
No internal
communication between
CIU 900 and the
Grundfos host product.
7.1.4 LED1 is flashing green
Cause
The startup phase takes
120 seconds.
7.1.5 LED1 is permanently red
Cause
CIM 550 is not
configured.
7.1.6 LED2 is permanently red
Cause
The module does not
support the connected
Grundfos host product.
Remedy
• Replace CIU 900.
Remedy
• Configure CIM 550 via
Grundfos GO.
Remedy
• Make sure that CIM
550 is fitted correctly in
the Grundfos host
product.
• Check the cable
connection between
the Grundfos host
product and CIU 900
• Make sure that the
individual conductors
are connected
correctly, not reversed.
• Check the power
supply to the Grundfos
host product.
Remedy
• Wait for 120 seconds.
Remedy
• Configure CIM 550 via
Grundfos GO.
Remedy
• Contact the nearest
Grundfos company.
