    1. INTRODUCCIÓN INTRODUCCION El manual de instrucciones se ha elaborado para las bicicletas BMX que CONOR SPORTS S.A. fabrica para ayudar a aprove- char al máximo la bicicleta. Se sugiere leer atentamente. Guardar este manual con la bicicleta Este manual se considera parte de la bicicleta que se ha ad- quirido.

    3. DESCRIPCIÓN GENERAL DE LA BICICLETA La práctica del ciclismo no está exenta de riesgos. El uso ade- cuado y mantenimiento correcto de la bicicleta reduce el ries- go de sufrir lesiones y provocar daños materiales. El usuario asume la responsabilidad de ese riesgo. Es necesario conocer y aplicar las reglas de código de circulación.

    5. COLOCACIÓN Y FUNCIONAMIENTO DE COMPONENTES 1.1 Sillín y tija de sillín. El sillín debe estar montado sobre la tija de sillín, en posición horizontal y centrada respecto al tubo superior del cuadro. La tija de sillín debe estar insertada en el cuadro de la bicicleta, respetando la indicación de inserción mínima, grabada sobre el lateral de la tija.
  • Page 11 1.6 Iluminación Compruebe el correcto funcionamiento y alineación respecto a su bicicleta. Es conveniente mantener limpio su equipo de iluminación. ATENCIÓN: como todo componente mecánico, una bicicleta sufre esfuerzos elevados y se desgasta. Los diferentes materiales y componentes pueden reaccionar diferentemente al desgaste o a la fatiga.

    7. NORMATIVA VIAL 1. Asegurarse de leer y entender el manual de instrucciones. 2. Puede que algunas leyes estatales o locales requieran que la bicicleta esté equipada con un dispositivo de aviso, tal como un timbre o una luz, si se va a utilizar la bicicleta de noche. 3.

    9. MANTENIMIENTO Y SU CUIDADO Es conveniente hacer revisar la bicicleta por un especialista cada cierto tiempo. El tiempo entre revisión y revisión dependerá del uso que se dé a la bicicleta. El especialista además de revisar todos los componentes de su bicicle- ta, indicará...

    10. AJUSTE DE LA BICICLETA MANILLAR, POTENCIA Y DIRECCIÓN Es conveniente revisar el juego de dirección de forma habitual. El manillar debe girar libremente sin que haya juego entre la horquilla delantera y el manillar. Para comprobar el estado del juego de dirección, accione la palanca del freno delantero con el fin de bloquear la rueda delantera.
  • Page 20 Montaje de la rueda trasera. 1. Girar el cambio trasero hacia la parte trasera de la bicicleta. Guiar la rueda para que entre en las ranuras de la horquilla trasera, con los piñones de la rueda en el mismo lado que la cadena. 2.
  • Page 21 4. Colocar la rueda en el suelo. 5. Coger la cubierta con los dedos de ambas manos. 6. Levantar la cubierta y deslizarlo por un borde de la llanta. 7. Sujetando la cubierta con una mano, sacar la cubierta de la llanta con la otra mano.

    13. MEDIO AMBIENTE Responsabilidad de minimizar el impacto de la presencia en el medio ambiente. Dejar todo tal y como se encontraba. Como usuario de bicicleta y para preservar el medio natural, nunca abandonar desechos y depositarlos en el punto de reciclaje más cercano. No favorecer la erosión o alterar el ecosistema al circular atajan- do por la vegetación o riachuelos.

    14. CERTIFICADO DE GARANTÍA GARANTIA LEGAL CONOR SPORTS S.A. garantiza, por medio de este certificado, la calidad de la bicicleta adquirida. La garantía legal tiene una validez de 3 años en España (sujeto a normativa vigente en cada país) desde el momento de la venta, pero puede variar en función del país donde se realice la venta.

We suggest you read it carefully. Store this manual with the bicycle This manual is considered part of the bicycle you have purchased.

    3. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE BICYCLE Cycling has its risks. Appropriate use and proper maintenance of the bicycle reduces the risk of personal injury and material damage. The user assumes the responsibility for this risk. You need to know and apply the rules of the highway code. For mi- nors, the parents and guardians are responsible for explaining and checking the way they should use the bicycle.

    5. PLACEMENT OF COMPONENTS AND HOW THEY WORK 1.1 Saddle and seatpost The saddle must be mounted on the seatpost, in a horizontal position and centred in line with the top tube of the frame. The seatpost must be inserted in the bicycle frame far enough not to leave visible the height limit engraved on the side of it.
  • Page 49 NB: like any mechanical component, a bicycle is subject to high stresses and wear. The different materials and components can react differently to wear or fatigue. If the foreseen lifetime of a component is exceeded it may break suddenly, which may cause injury to the cyclist. Cracks, scratches and discolourations of areas subject to high stresses indicate that the component has exceeded its lifetime and should be replaced.

    7. HIGHWAY CODE 1. Make sure you read and understand the instruction manual. 2. Some national or local laws may require the bicycle to be equipped with an alerting device, like a bell or a light, if you are going to use the bicycle at night. 3.
  • Page 52 11. The bicycle has not been designed for acrobatics or experi- ments. Enjoy it safely. 12. Be careful at all crossroads. Reduce speed and look both ways before crossing and always adhering to the highway code rules. 13. Use hand signals. Always let other drivers and pedestrians know what you are intending to do.

    8. SAFETY AND BEHAVIOUR SYMBOLS INFORMATION YOU NEED TO READ YOUR PHYSICAL SAFETY MAY BE AT RISK PREVENTION Keep your eyes on the road Make sure you ride according to the conditions of the road or track. Identify any risks and obstacles. Don’t do anything unsafe Do not ride “no hands”.
  • Page 54 Overtake with precaution Observe the traffic around you before you overtake. Fit a bell as an extra safety feature. Defensive driving Look out for dangerous situations. If necessary, stop the bicycle. Be prudent when riding in reduced light conditions Use front and rear lights and reflectors in reduced light conditions: riding at night, in underpasses and tunnels, following highway code rules.
  • Page 55 Using a helmet Use an approved helmet and follow the manufacturer’s instructions when adjusting, handling and maintaining it. Maximum weight The total weight permitted (cyclist, luggage and bicycle) must not exceed 120kg (depending on the model). For junior bicycles the maximum weight is 90 Kg. Theft Use a padlock that cannot be cut.

    9. MAINTENANCE AND CARE We recommend you have the bicycle serviced by a specialist every so often. The time between each service will depend on the use you make of the bicycle and your specialist’s recom- mendations. The specialist, apart from checking all its components, will tell you whether you need to replace any of the parts of your bi- cycle.

    10. ADJUSTING THE BICYCLE HANDLEBARS, STEM AND STEERING We recommend you check the steering set regularly. The handlebars must turn freely without any play between the front fork and the handlebars. To check the state of the steering set, pull on the front brake so that the front wheel locks.
  • Page 58 Mounting the rear wheel 1. Move the rear derailleur towards the rear of the bicycle. Guide the wheel so that it enters the slots of the rear fork, with the wheel’s sprockets on the same side as the chain. 2. Position the chain on the smallest sprocket. 3.
  • Page 59 5. Grip the tyre with the fingers of both hands. 6. Lift up the tyre and slip it over one edge of the rim. Holding the tyre with one hand, take the tyre off the rim with the other. Mounting the tyre 1.
  • Page 60 Seating the tyre After repairing or changing the tyre you must seat it correctly in the rim. 1. Run your fingers round the edge of the tyre to check it is inside the outer rim. 2. Partly inflate the inner tube with a hand pump. 3.
  • Page 61 MOUNTING THE PEDALS For it to work safely, the pedal axle must be fixed firmly into the thread of the crank arms. Replace damaged pedals in any case. Start screwing in each pedal axle by hand so as not to damage the thread of the crank arm.
  • Page 62 HOW THE REAR AND FRONT DERAILLEUR WORK The rear derailleur provides you with more efficient pedalling. If pedal- ling takes too much effort it means you need to change to a lower gear. If pedalling is too easy, you need to change to a higher gear. There are two gear levers.
  • Page 63 Adjusting the rear derailleur For your convenience the rear derailleur has been adjusted at the factory. It may nevertheless need a few minor adjustments. Keep in mind the following points when changing gear: 1. Reduce pedalling pressure during the change. 2.
  • Page 64 Turning the high gear adjustment screw “H” clockwise, the guide pulley moves towards the low gear position of the large sprocket. 1. The rear wheel should be in the air so that it doesn’t touch the ground. Either with a bicycle holder or by turning it upside down, with the saddle and the handlebar resting on the ground.
  • Page 65 ADJUSTMENT OF V-BRAKES In Europe, the front brake lever is mounted on the left side of the han- dlebars and the rear brake on the right side. You can invert this order if you like, if you are left-handed for example. More force is required to actuate the rear brake due to the greater length of the cable.
  • Page 66 Adjusting the brakes 1. Untighten the cable fixture nut (use a 5 mm Allen key). 2. Unscrew and replace the brake shoes. Check with the brake lever. 3. Pull the end of the cable with pliers and keep it tense while tightening it up.
  • Page 67 Check that your bicycle’s disk brakes don’t contain any oil or grease. You can use alcohol to clean the disks. If the brake levers touch the handlebars when pulled softly, the hydrau- lic system needs to be bled. As the bleeding operation is quite techni- cal, we recommend you take your bicycle to an official dealer for this.

    Both fastened to the front and rear racks. REPAIR For repairs or adjustments go to the dealer you purchased the bicycle from or to your nearest CONOR WRC dealer. PART REPLACEMENT If you have to replace a damaged component, we recommend using the original components of the original assembly.

    General warnings Accessories such as helmet, bell and lighting devices are man- datory under highway code rules. Check that accessories are compatible with the CONOR WRC bicycle before purchasing and mounting them. Mounting accessories such as mudguards, luggage racks... that were not on the original bicycle and do not have the right ad- justments or fastenings may stop the bicycle working properly.

    13. ENVIRONMENT Responsibility for minimising the bicycle’s impact on the envi- ronment. Leave everything as it was before. As bicycle user and to preser- ve the environment, never leave litter behind and dispose of it at the nearest recycling point. Do not encourage erosion or affect the ecosystem by taking short-cuts through vegetation or streams.

    14. WARRANTY CERTIFICATE LEGAL WARRANTY With this certificate CONOR SPORTS S.A. guarantees the quality of the bicycle purchased. The legal warranty is valid for 3 years in Spain (subject to law regulations in each country) as of the time of sale, but may vary according to the country the sale is made in.
  • Page 72 • If they cannot get to said dealer, they can go to another one previously agreed with our warranty department. In all cases, the carriage and labour costs are payable by the customer. • If the registration is not presented within the time indicated, the warranty applicable will be the mandatory legal period of two years.
  • Page 73 EXCLUSIONS: This lifetime warranty will not cover the following: • Defects caused by wear deriving from the normal use of the bicycle. We recommend you check your bicycle regularly. • Replacement of components such as seatposts, handlebars, handlebar stems, derailleurs, wheels ... that are not compatible with the new frame if changed is not included.
  • Page 74 • Only the bicycle’s frame and the rigid fork, if it has one, will be repaired or replaced. • The lifetime guarantee covers the bicycle’s entire lifetime, set at maximum 10 years. • The warranty coverage does not extend to the improper use of the bicycle, dangerous activities, failure to adhere to traffic regulations and using a bicycle for uses other than the normal ones.
  • Page 75 REPLACEMENT POLICY FOR IMPACTS OR ACCIDENTS: CONOR SPORTS has a frame replacement programme at very low rates for owners who have broken a frame, either due to accident or for other reasons not covered by the warranty. The maximum period applicable will be 5 years as of the date of purchase and the damaged frame will remain the property of CONOR SPORTS S.A.
