Contact breaker points
The ignition contact breaker points great-
ly affect ignition. It -is necessary, there-
fore, that the points be periodically
polished with oil stone or sandpaper and
that the point gap be correctly adjusted.
A n y improper adjustment will result in
incorrect ignition timing. It is advisable
to have your dealer adjust the point gap.
Point gap:
0 . 0 1 2 - 0 . 0 1 6 " ( 0 . 3 - 0 . 4 mm)
Ignition timing
Timing is of critical importance. If you
wish to check the timing after your
service or for any reason, have your
dealer check for you.
