3 Wipe the appliance dry with a clean dry
cloth.
• Clean the appliance thoroughly after
use.
• Make sure the appliance is not
connected with the recharge adaptor
when you are going to clean it.
• Make sure no moisture comes into
contact with the appliance's electrical
parts.
• Never immerse the appliance and/or
the adaptor in water or other liquids.
• Never use aggressive or scouring
cleaning products or sharp objects
(such as a knife or a hard brush) to
clean the appliance.

Recharging batteries

1 After use, allow the batteries to cool
before recharging.
2 Connect the adapter with the appliance
and put the adaptor in the wall socket.
The display will light up showing you a
number of 'C's from which one is
blinking.
The number of 'C's indicate the battery
charge. The maximum is 4 'C's.
3 When the display shows 'FUL', the
batteries are charged completely.
4 Remove the adaptor from the wall
socket and disconnect it from the
appliance.
5 Allow the batteries to cool before using
the appliance.
• When the hair straightener starts
beeping during recharging, the
batteries are positioned incorrectly.
Open the battery compartment and
position batteries correctly (see

'Replace batteries').

• Do not use the appliance during
recharging the batteries.
Replace batteries
Depending on the use of the appliance, the
rechargeable batteries will loose their

capacity after some time. When with fully
charged batteries, the functioning time of
the appliance becomes too short or when
the set temperature is not reached
anymore, most probably the batteries are
worn down and must be replaced.
1 Hold the appliance as indicated in
figure 2 (with the lock button upwards)
and with thumb and index finger on
both mirrors, pull open the battery
compartment.
2 Remove the batteries from the
compartment.
3 Replace the batteries by new
rechargeable batteries. Make sure you
position them as indicated on the
appliance (see figure 3).
4 Close the battery compartment.
• Use new rechargeable batteries of the
same type and with the same capacity
as the original batteries (NI-MH
batteries, type AA, 1.2 V, 2400 mAh).
Do not use other types of
rechargeable batteries.
• Use rechargeable batteries only.
Trying to recharge not-rechargeable
batteries, the batteries will become
hot, causing leaking and sometimes
exploding batteries. This will cause
damage to the appliance.
• Batteries contain metals and acids
that are hazardous for the
environment. Do not throw used
batteries in the trash.
Collect them to take to hazardous
material collection locations.
STORAGE
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off
and cooled down completely.
2 Recharge the batteries to prepare the
hair straightener for the next time.
3 Close the appliance and lock it in that
position by shifting the lock button to
the locked position.
