Precautions
¢ if your car was parked in direct sunlight
resulting in a considerable rise in temperature
inside the car, allow the unit to cool off before
operating it.
e If no power is being supplied to the unit, check
the connections first. If everything is in order,
check the fuse.
eif no sound comes out of the speakers of a 2-
speaker system, set the fader control to the
center position.
elf your car is equipped with a power antenna,
note that it will be automatically extended
while the unit is being operated.
e If this unit is used in a car with no accessory
position on the ignition key, be sure to press
the PUSH OFF button when stopping the
Operation in order to avoid car battery wear.
e Avoid installing the unit in a place:
— subject to temperatures exceeding 55°C
(131°F) (such as in a car parked in direct
sunlight).
— subject to direct sunlight.
— near heat sources (such as heaters).
— exposed to rain or moisture.
— exposed to excessive dust or dirt.
— subject to excessive vibration.
e As the laser beam in this compact disc
changer is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt
to disassemble the cabinet. Refer servicing to
qualified personnel only.
Moisture condensation
On a rainy day or in a very damp area, moisture
may condense on the lenses inside the CD
changer unit. Should this occur, the unit will not
operate properly. In this case, remove the disc
and wait for about an hour until the moisture
evaporates.

Notes on Cassettes
Cassette care
e Avoid touching the tape surface of a cassette,
as any dirt or dust will contaminate the head.
e Keep cassettes away from equipment with
magnets such as speakers and amplifiers, as
erasure or distortion on the recorded tape
could occur.
+ Do not expose cassettes to direct sunlight,
extremely cold temperatures or moisture.
Note on cassettes longer than 90
minutes
The use of cassettes longer than 90 minutes is
not recommended except for long continuous
playback.
Removing the Main Unit
To prevent the main unit from being
stolen
When you leave your car, remove the unit from
the bracket and take it away with you.
Be sure to turn off the power of the unit before
removing the unit, otherwise you may hear a
noise.
